I have always loved birds. I have had pet cockatiels and cockatoos for over 30 years. I feed wild birds year round. Your bird paintings are marvelous. I hope to try my hand at painting some. I had a hand injury 20 years ago so I have not done Art for that long. You inspire me to try. Thank you, @Louise De Masi

Louise, I love watching you paint! I'm hoping you could make a video addressing something I really struggle with: backgrounds! How to choose where to paint in the background, if you apply one at all, and how to choose the right colors to compliment your subject? Thank you!
@marycope22784 жыл бұрын
so many of the artists I watch on KZbin paint quick and loose. It is refreshing to see someone who cares about detail and is willing to take the time to provide an accurate but artistic rendering of a subject. If I weren't already 30 years alder than you I would say I want to grow up to be like you. Love your tutorials. Thank you.

Hi Louise I am a realist watercolour artist and love painting birds and I also tell my students if you don’t get the eye right or the beak it will not look real. Love your videos and your artwork is beautiful. Cheers Jan

Hi Louise, i've recently discovered your channel. I wanted to tell you that i am learning a lot just from watching carefully. It's been many years since I've painted and I have so much to learn.

I've just found your channel about 2 days ago and can't stop watching your videos. Your instruction is the best!

The dimension you get in the eye is just amazing!! And you take the bird's beak from a scratched and well-used tool to a stunning, glowing jewel!! So beautiful! I can get so wrapped up in a reference picture, trying to repeat every detail, and you remind us to keep the emphasis on the "reference" part so that the piece becomes art! I appreciate that so much!!

i am below-beginner in my watercolor journey, but i am learning so much from watching your videos. i should also add... this knitter was much amused by your crochet-for-sanity breaks during the outtakes.

As always very informative and Louise the bird's eye was wonderful. I loved its shine and of course how it had a 3-D appearance. I saw a few things in how you did it, that of course, I have to "borrow" and apply on one of my projects. :) I'll keep an eye out for your next posting.

I always wonder about the one thumbs down I see on your videos. Must be an oil painter who got lost in the web. Anyway this is definitely up one level for me. Looking forward to trying it... and failing and failing and failing before I see glimpse of what could be an eye. Just not sure if it's a bird's eye or a crochet loop???!
@erinhallmakes7773 жыл бұрын
beautiful. was that a red tail black too? Just FYI the part at the top of the beak where the 'nostrils' (called nares in parrots) is referred to as the Cere and is not a part of the beak. its fleshy where as beak is hard. watching your beautiful bird paintings makes me miss have pet birds so bad.
