Another excellent and very useful video! While I was watching it I thought about a sample book my sister had to do more than half a century ago in her Home Economics sewing class. Each page had at least one type of hemming stitch, buttonhole, etc., and then notes on how to do it and what it was best used for. So, instead of just taking notes, I’m going to get those page protectors you mentioned that you use for swatching and try as best I can to copy each technique you demonstrate. I think it will reinforce what you are teaching us.

I usually brush a light wash of a particular colour first and then add dark shading of that same colour when it’s dry. I could definitely use masking fluid to mask off areas I want painted a different colour because there’s no way you can paint a light colour on top of a dark colour.

Hi. I’m thoroughly enjoying your lesson and learning so much. Thank you! I’m curious; are you aware that during your lesson; at about the end of the two overlapping pedals, there is an Ad that’s over 68 minutes long? They’ve begun placing “Ads” that are longer than videos. It makes it near impossible to support. I sincerely apologize. ...back to the lesson! Update: Just as you’re introducing pedals and leaves with tiny lines, an Ad for over 42 minutes began. I’m curious, still; if we don’t have time to watch these and skip them, does that negatively effect you? Again, I do apologize. ...back...
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber3 жыл бұрын
Hi, goodness, that's a long ad! KZbin show every user something different, because they individually target you. KZbinrs actually get paid for skipped ads because the companies are happy that you saw their brand for five seconds before skipping. So do skip, it does my channel no harm!

Hello, watercolors markers are the quickest way to achieve the edge around leaves. Just outline with the marker, soften the inner edge with water, blend into the center and drop in some color at the base. Love your channel, your ideas and how you present yourself. Watercolor markers are great for so many things to speed a painting along. I bet you could come up with more uses for them then I have in my paintings. I look forward to your video on this!!!

Thanks for the tips, we share the same name I see! Watercolor markers, great idea :-)

@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Yes, we do! The brand I like is Castle Art Supplies. You also get one empty marker brush that you fill with water. Perfect for blending. Michele, my sister has marvelous, big patches of grape hyacinths. I'm having a very hard time figuring out how to paint them, especially because the background is a combination of light celery color and texture, and get dark green shadows. I've only found one example on YT that is far too impressionistic for me. Please help me create a beautiful gift of a painting of her beloved flowers.
@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber3 жыл бұрын
Hi Margo, the purple parts will need to go on white paper, which can be tricky when painting a patch of them because if you layer them over the green they will look muddy. I would be inclined to do them more botanical style, plants on white background. Draw first, then do the purple parts, then add the greens.
@artsymargo3 жыл бұрын
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber So I can pretty much give up any idea of doing washes. I'm cool with doing it "botanical" style, but was hoping for at least partial washes. The flowers are close to Cobalt blue, so it makes sense that there's enough pink in there to muddy the green.
