Learn to make a gorgeous watercolor marble tumbler with alcohol ink and isopropyl alcohol. I use mostly Tim Holts alcohol ink and sometimes piñata. A thin paint brush with a pointy tip is best. 91% alcohol, but if I can't find it I will use everclear.

I would not have sent my children to school, would have gladly home schooled. IMO, we have much more information now and while I am still cautious, I came to the conclusion that I cannot live in fear and refuse to live like this for the next umpteen years. Its all good !

This was awesome! Thank you! On your thumbnail picture you had a picture of a blue tones cup with gold. What did you use for the gold in that cup? And how did you apply it?

Hi. I used gold leaf sheets. I just placed randomly. When I was all done, there were places on the cup that the ink was heavy and a little sticky, I just pressed little pieces on and rubbed with my finger to burnish it. You could also use a kids glue stick. Use a paint brush to apply it in thin lines. I’ve also just dropped small pieces in my first coat of epoxy.

Amazing! I'm wanting to try this...I have all the colors except the pink (which I think you said was Flamingo, right?) and mermaid. I do have Laguna...would that work in place of mermaid? Also, I only have 99% alcohol...would that work or does it have to be 91%?

99% is just fine. Jump in there with whatever colors you have. Doesn’t matter at all

I used to do nails :) Some do seal, I do not and never have. You could use alcohol ink markers. I would be afraid the markers would stain before you got the marble effect done. If you try it, let us know how it worked for you.

hi! its just gold leaf. You can drop it into an epoxy coat. apply with a glue. If the alcohol ink is still sticky and sometimes it is form working it with the alcohol, I will gently push it on and then gently buff with my finger. it will stick to the sticky part. So do you seal it before you epoxy? I did this technique and ended up water sliding it for a dear friend of mine. When I put the epoxy over it to seal it the water slide shows discoloring under it and I'm super disheartened over it.

I put at least one layer of epoxy before I use water slide. I've not had a problem with discoloration. I cut as close as possible to the design. I use Hayse brand waterslide mostly.

no I haven't. But I done use powder coated cups. I sand wash and prime with white spray primer. If your cup was prepped the same way, Just repaint with your primer. Let it cure few hours and try agin. Don't work the area to to much. If you're not happy with the area your working in, let it dry while working on a different section and then come back to it.

Alcohol, and you're going to use a lot more that you think. If you want the base of your cup to be more white, use more to lighten it up.

I base coast in a white spray primer. I don’t seal before epoxy. After ink, I let dry for 24-48 hours then hit it with 2-3 coasts of epoxy

Lots of alcohol. A lot. More than you think you need. That will help. You don't need to a clear coat. Try wetting your cup with alcohol first and do small sections at a time. You can always add alcohol to the dry ink to reactivate it.

The first 2 tries that’s the spray paint I used. The second was a different kind. The first 2 were glasses and the second was a steel cup. I’m using 91% alcohol and a soft tip brush. I may be touching it too hard. I don’t think so, but maybe.
