This is absolutely incredible, Shana! So incredible I couldn’t wait to comment once I’d watched the whole thing! It was comment now or forget what I wanted to say…😂😂😂 I wish that when I was a beginner-beginner-beginner that I had been given the advice you gave here-to just try and that in trying the techniques I would learn so many things. I don’t know about anyone else but I’ve learned more since I started a journal practice and stopped trying to “learn to paint” than I ever did trying to paint a landscape following a tutorial. Now I just play and try and every day my skills get better! The other thing I wanted to say is I love the introduction of the green! For me it took an amazing painting and turned it into incredible because suddenly it began to tell a story to me. I don’t know if that makes sense…anyway sorry to be so long written! Thank you for sharing your process though this stunning painting!

What a fabulous painting to begin the new year. As i added the greens blue leaves I began wishing I’d added the extra leaves to fill the page. It was a great learning piece. I think I may try it again and see how I can improve it, experiment a bit (something that I’m a bit hesitant to do but will try)
