Thanks for joining me this year in this watercolor journaling journey. I hope to paint in my journal most days of the year and invite you to join me. We don't need big resolutions, just gentle intentions to tend to our creative soul a little bit everyday.

I had to chuckle. When my son was in second grade he drew a picture with a blue cow in it. The art teacher told him there was no such thing as a blue cow. Mike said, "sure there is, she's in my picture"...I love that kid.

Just finished my colorful cow and I love it!!! My husband saw my sketch and the first color I put down...he guessed an elephant but when I showed what I had done, he said right away "oh a cow!"

What journal brand is this??? I like the rounded corners and how flat it is when opened. I haven't painted for 18 months and only painted a year.... I'm 71... and loved watercolor when I first started, but health issues kept me from the desire to get back to painting. I just bought a Strathmore 140lb cold press journal to begin again! The journal brand is a Tumuarta. It’s 25%cotton. It is probably very similar to your Strathmore book. I hope you get back to it and wish you well with your health recovery. Happy painting!

I’m new to your channel and watercolors. I tried the cow today, starting from the beginning of your journal prompts, but I have to say, my cow looks like my daughters Great Dane dog!!

Keep practicing! Many artists often have to draw and paint things more than once. I’ve painted this cow or something similar over a dozen times. Your Great Dane painting is probably super unique and full of personality too.

Haha. It sure is! 😁 Painterly refers to the application of paint in a 'loose' or less than controlled manner, resulting in the appearance of visible brushstrokes within the finished painting
