I've always loved dragonflies - and now something new (for me). I'm newly obsessed with these metallics on black paper! And I hope I don't drive you crazy with it! But for now, check out this simple little dragonfly on black paper! Pretty easy - supply list below!

My Meeden paper suggestion is 100% cotton, has a really great texture and is finer grade. These paints are definitely beautiful as well as your painting! I bought the same paper, but haven’t tried it yet. A while ago I was gifted Finetec pearlescent paints. The colors are beautiful in the pallet, but are a much different color when I tried using them on white paper. I bought the black paper to try them on but haven’t yet. Do you have any experience with these and if so, what do you use them for? I now have another purchase to make. Metallics! BTW, we are close in age and Lite Brite was one of my favorite toys as a kid. 😊

Hi Jessica~ Light brights were so fun werent they! Interesting I recently did a short, and I have one metallic set that barely shows up on black paper. These really popped as did the mirror series by MAB. I never tried the black paper all these years, this pad is only 5X7 but it shure is fun, a lot more fun than I expected! Youm ight try the metallics you have over other colors and see how they do. Sometimes the more trasluscent metallics are good for mixing with regular pigments. I hoe you give this a try, I think you will love that black paper!

Wow , beautiful I’ve been waiting with bated breath ever since you told me this was coming. It’s beautiful, I will definitely be trying this one. I’m also sure after doing my previous dragonfly with these paints that the camera isn’t showing its full sparkle , if you put them under lights at night time they become even more magical. You have to see them in real life to know their true beauty. Thank you for this great tutorial. I for one won’t be complaining if you do more projects with these lovely paints.
