Enjoyed it as always Grant. I really like that palette you have. Aside from the Craig Young boxes which are outrageously expensive, your palette is about the only one I have seen that makes both a good studio, and plein air both. Most palettes are good for one or the other. I think you told me your palette was a custom job or you said it in one of your videos. I loved your use of phthalo blue here. It is a color I struggle with. It and phthalo green are so super strong.

The best 👌. I am learning with him, I'm painted 3 times " Tree in the mist" and every time I get something know, I have to corrected something, add, or decrease somethings, Thanks Grant fuller.

Beautiful! What kind of brush are you using in the beginning? Thank you for your wonderful videos! I am learning a lot!

+Janet Coker Hi Janet, its called an oval wash brush. It is a mixture of squirrel and synthetic. Squirrel hair by itself is not good, but mixed with synthetic, it has good spring back and holds a lot of wash.

Nice! I recognized my beautiful BC right away. What area was this from? It reminded me of Comox Bay. I have source photos that we took when we were on Gabriola Island, so it was especially interesting to me to see how you made the distinction between the sky-meets-mountains blues.

+1957DLT this is a provincial park about halfway between Comox and Campbell river. There are countless beaches that are great for painting, not necessarily for swiming.

Did you wet the paper first?
@grantwfuller8 жыл бұрын
+Darlene Suldickas All washes were done on dry paper. Working outdoors I often keep the paper vertical.This is just a habit from demonstrating for groups, where they can more easily see the process. It is hard to keep control of wet paper when standing at a vertical easel.

You can get away with an aluminum stand like that there in Vancouver (I have several siblings living in Victoria, Mayne Island, and Vancouver), but here in Colorado it would never work. It's WAY too windy! I haven't tried plein air yet, but plan to soon. I have an aluminum easel that I use at home, but may have to bring blocks of cement to tie it to! I'm just kidding of course. Thanks again for sharing!

+Rosemary Clark Wind is also the enemy here, especially close to the water. I choose my outdoor days based on fair weather only, otherwise its home with photos. I was fortunate on the day I did this one.
