this is so beautiful. I like how you did the leaves--as a beginner, I've not been successful doing them with one brush stroke. What I've learned from this video is--who says they have to be in one stroke? You've made beautiful leaves with an outline and filling it in, something I hadn't thought of trying. Thanks!

I have just discovered you CeeCee and I absolutely lose time watching you. I put together a little painting and doodle book and I am going to take it to with me when I have to wait. I usually play a game where I take a large word and see how many little words I can make from the big word. This is so much more fun. The possibilities are endless. My DS Green Gold is on its way!!! I now have paper I like too. QUESTION: until I get more brush control, can you recommend a paint brush that has shorter bristles good enough spring to hold points for fine details ? that's awesome Nancy. you'll love the green gold. it's one of those colors that run when you blend wet-on-wet. as for the brush, i would recommend the one i'm using. the bristles are quite short and it's so inexpensive.not sure where you live, Nancy, but i got mine from JetPens here: www.jetpens.com/Pentel-Design-Fude-Menso-Brush-Small/pd/20412 . it is truly a terrific brush for the price.

Oh joy, joy, I'm skipping around a May Pole tossing out flower petals!!! Remember the Disney cartoons where little pink pigs in tutus? GREEN GOLD RUNS - EVEN BETTER. I'm watching vids on composition and this is what I've learned so far: Your painting is well balanced in values, full of interest and movement! All that and my favorite - gold accents makes the piece playful and whimsical. I used to work for a newspaper years ago and the editor thought he was sticking me with a dreadful task - I reviewed dinner theater in a renovated Opera House that had velvet floral wallpaper; it was in the middle of the coal-fields and poverty-stricken even at that time (1970's). I was in heaven to be paid to attend, much to his disgust! I also bought DS Blue Magnesium Hue, Rhodonite Genuine and M Graham Cobalt Teal. I live in Wilmington, NC and have recently ordered from JetPens. The brush you used today reminded me to ask you for a recommendation. I am looking for pens that have waterproof ink and can tolerate use on texture watercolor paper. I bought JetPens Tombow trio. Jury is still out on them. QUESTION: HAVE YOU FOUND PENS WITH METAL TIPS, like the Uniball tips? I'm thinking the metal would last longer. One other joyous event - I was walking by my neighbors garden and she was outside so she let me take all the pictures I have wanted for the last 5 years! Her style is very eclectic.
