That gold in the sun at the end when you picked up the piece and moved it, just a beautiful flash of gold, I think it fits and I am really glad you left it in and didn't start over. The loose painting and drawing you do, and the time it takes you to create the orbs, had really helped me loosen up and slow down and ease up on the pressure with the pencils. I don't know, if I can name a favourite, all of what you make is mind expanding and so very creative. That's a long winded way for me to say, I love what you do and share, and I learn a lot!!

I loved how the gold ended up! It really played well across the sun when you blended right into it. Surprisingly subtle!

Oh my gosh! I am utterly smitten and charmed by this! Up close, the trees almost remind me of pointillism. Such a unique blend of watercolor, graphite, and pencils! I am sure your friend will treasure it.❤

THIS is soooo beautiful, CeeCee!!! I love how you define the trees with their shading and that thatched roof house is sooooo elegant, if you can use that word on an organic house, but I am fascinated with its architecture! It must be wonderful to live in such a serene, idyllic place!!! About the gold .... I see what you meant by not being able to color over it, but I view them as "sun spots" erupting from that gorgeous orb setting into that hillside. Stunning work, as always!!!

I agree completely with this comment, although being from England I've grown up with thatch cottages all around and stayed in many, they are often warm and cosy. I love this picture and will try and emulate it with a painting of my own home. Your friend is a lucky man. Best wishes to you CeeCee, I hope you continue to improve, Katie

Ceecee I love to watch you paint! And to hear you talking about it. I love the details in this one… the trees have more whimsy than realistic and I l love that!! It’s something of a counter-balance to the planned details of the house. It reminds me of a more mature version of the fairy-tale feeling from childhood story books. You’ve captured that whimsy but also a dreamlike feeling. I don’t know the right terms to describe it, but I think it’s just that I love the feeling I get when I look at your work. Please don’t ever stop! I’ve already learned so much from you!

I love so many of your pieces for different reasons, usually color choices as well as the gold and the doodles. But this type of house with the thatched roof has got me to go in search of images because I really want to create one for myself. Ever since I was a little girl I've loved drawing houses with trees. This style I have never tried and yet out of all, it "lives" more than any other type of home! It's as if it grew up from it's surroundings and immediately I see its occupants in their old world style of dress flitting by a window or coming outside with a basket of homemade bread to take to someone in need. How cozy this painting feels to me!! Thank you CeCe!!

Your paintings are beautiful and the style touched me and inspired me to try the method on a small pumpkin rendering. I love the result and will try on some additional subjects. I love the direction you are taking your talent! And let me tell you, I was shocked when I heard you share your age because, from the beautiful clear tone of your voice, I had envisioned you in your early 30’s. I am 67 and had worried that my time is limited for establishing my artist style. But you have given me renewed inspiration and hope for my future artist self.

This is EXACTLY what I needed to see! I am working on an illustrated children's book for my dear friend and wanted to save some time with watercolor backgrounds for the broad strokes and pencils for the detail work. Your shading is exquisite!! Such a beautiful labor of love as a gift to your friend. How can they not LOVE this? Thank you for sharing your struggles (like layering with oil or water based on the other) and allowing yourself the freedom to be loose with a concrete part (the house that actually exists.) I loved this video and can't thank you enough for sharing. Blessings to you from the great pacific Northwest, Lakewood Washington!
