Hi Friends, here is my new speed up watercolour demonstration. I am painting a moody seascape. In full demo I share my tips on painting large scale painting, 1/2 imperial sheet and larger. Also, the focus of this demos is is on varying tonal values and edges. This is to achieve a strong feel of atmosphere and depth in the painting.

This is wonderful and right up my ally, as far as how I would like to paint. I see you looking off to your left and I’m assuming you have a reference photo? I absolutely need to see the reference when I’m painting or watching tutorials. Do you usually show your reference?

Yes, it's available on Patreon as a download and also I include it in the full video in the corner while sketching. There are a number of students on my Patreon who actually watch and listen to my explanation of the process but then prefer to paint from reference without looking at me demonstrating. So, yes, reference is always there. It's a good learning idea.

Thank you David! This is just a flat tray with two separate well containers that I sticky taped to the tray. It's generic from an art store. It fits better on my table and in the camera view in my new studio :) Re colours, it's a very classy choice: Violet, Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Cobalt Turquoise, Yellow Ocher, Cad.Red Light, Alizarin Crimson, B.Sienna, Sepia, N.Tint. I also have two (cool and warm) opaques, it's Lavender and Jaune Brilliant #1, can be substituted with White mixed with C.Blue+C.Red and White mixed with Cad. Deep Yellow respectively.

It's a tray with 2 by 6 wells glued (double sticky tape) to it. ☺️ Very simple, but I could not find a palette with one large mixing area and 10-12 wells on one side, so had to make it myself, lol
