I would love to hear what your favorite art supply or tool is in your kit! 😀

I feel very validated in my choice of art supplies because my pencil case has almost the same stuff inside!

I have that exact water color paint palette. I use both sides for water. I have a dirty rinse and clean rinse. I love it. It’s my very first palette setup. I still use it today and I bought it a few years ago from Amazon. Great video. 😊

Too funny! I bought myself and my 9 grandkids those cases. I have that painter palette as well. I use the front mesh pocket for thin washi tape and a small kneadable eraser. They are really sturdy cases. Thanks for the other ideas!!

I'm glad YT suggested me your video. I've got both the watercolor travel brush set and the portable painter on order. I can't wait to try them out. Thanks, Jessica.

Dear Jessica Lynn - thanks for the video. I've looked at so many Travel Kits on KZbin. I recently discovered a rather swish Winsor & Newton travel pack among my archives (don't we all have sometimes so much kit that we hardly know what we've got?) which is ideal for throwing in the car (or in the bike pannier), taking up zero space. Your choice of contents has made the most sense in my trying to put together the 'ideal' range of minimal but useful equipment. I was glad to learn from you about the mini-misters. I've ordered some whilst watching. Thanks for the sensible choices - you've made my day. Every good wish across the pond for a very good year to you and yours. Paul in the UK midlands

I'm glad you were able to find my video helpful. I have a hard time being very minimal so this is a good in-between for me; a small kit, but as many supplies as I could need inside. Hope you have a happy, healthy, and creative New Year!

I’m late to the party here but thought this might be useful. I have the same travel brushes (Fuumuui) and the pouch actually IS leather. It can even fit an extra (small) Tintoretto travel brush! I decided I wanted my 5” x 8” travel journal to fit in too, so bought a large pencil case by Vaschy. It’s 2.9”x 9.8” x 7.6”. It has 3 removable layers for pens/pencils. With two removed and one left, I can still slot in 24 pens, pencils or other tools, and below, my mini travel palette of 20 half pans, travel brushes, ArtGraf, white gouache, mini spray bottle, sharpener, bulldog clips, magnetic clips etc etc. Because it’s bigger, it has a carry handle. There are also the mesh zippered compartment where I keep more fragile, smaller or less used items eg scratching tool, ziplock bag, and cotton buds. I love it! Just gotta have the self-control not to raid it so I’m always ready to go!

I also love seeing how others set up their field kits! I've never seen the paint palette set up with the little cups, thats very cool!! I have a hard time editing myself sometimes and want to bring too much. But some good waterproof ink and a pencil and watercolor, limited palette is perfect. I also love making super simple little watercolor books to paint in, but need to find something hard enough for the front and back covers because I like having some stability there. So I'll look at you video on it and any ideas others have is great! That case is real nice as well. I love graphite drawing too...so I get torn and try to bring too much in the way of pencils and charcoal, I guess because sometimes I see something that I really wish I had brought the other supplies. Guess I should make 2 of them for each medium? Though I love using my water soluble graphite as well, so still need water....so might need a bigger case to bring it all. Then I over think how to set it up and if I need a clipboard and just do pieces 9f good paper....see....I over think it all so end up not doing it as much...I'm so dumb 😳🙄 :/ I just love all of it so much its hard to choose. But I loved your kit and those brushes were really really nice and came with decent sizes...so many only come with tiny and I get overly detailed and too slow with small brushes....yup, I've got issues guys, I know ;) I always want to head outside to sketch or paint or both but I get overwhelmed with the what if's when it comes to "am I bring too much or too little or I'm not good enough and if people see me they'll look because they'll assume I'm good if I'm in public and then I embarrassed cuz I'm not that great"....so yea...overthinking stops me from lots of things...but I'm trying to work on it and stuff like this gets me excited and motivated :) so this was awesome and I'm heading to your channel to subscribe now and watch more!! Thanks!!!

Thanks so much for all the kind words! I think starting out with a kit to take just around your house or in your backyard would be good. That way you are still nearby your supplies should you think you need something. Then after a few times you could probably see which supplies you are using the most and put those in your kit then go on a little further of an outing. Overthinking is huge issue with myself as well. Just remember it's about progress, not perfection 😉

@@JessicaLynnIllustration thanks so much!! I don't know why I didn't see this until now!? I'm so sorry! That is super good advice about the kit. Plus getting more and more comfortable with being out in the open more :) Yea, overthinking is a hard thing to stop doing thats for sure :/ all we can do is keep trying to work on it I guess :) Thanks again for the great advice :) hope you have a great weekend!! :)
