I just watched this video, and decided to try to paint a pine tree with a toothbrush. It is a genius tip, thank you!!! My Christmas scenes are going to be more realistic, and will cause me less grief!

Great video as always Michele! I love how it looks like the huge old oak tree in my front yard with the greenish brown moss & lichen on the trunk. Thanks for sharing this informational & inspirational video!

Informative video as always 👌. Didn't know you could use blue to cool down brown. Also, I have what you called a rigger brush. I didn't know the name of it before. I have a fan brush. Thinking I need to buy another one to cut into it like you did. 👍 👍 👍

I’ve painted a lot of trees, but never with a toothbrush! Thank you for that tip! But I have to say, part of the joy of painting has been creating my own specialty “tools” to accomplish a look I want. Great video.

I have been using a stiff stencil brush for foliage, but that scruffy fan seems to do a better job. Look out fan brush, I've got my scissors.

Michelle, could you share your rigger brush make, or suggest a good size I could find in US Amazon or any store? Thank you!!! 😊

The one in the video is actually very cheap. Daler Rowney synthetic are a safe bet for brushes :-) Their 'graduate' line is very reasonably priced if you are uncertain if you will like a certain shape of brush, before spending more.
