Watercolor underwater sun rays and dolphins painting - easy sea painting demonstration

To paint it I used:
***Paper : Arches cold pressed watercolor paper 300gsm or 140lb from sheet
***Watercolors : brand St. Petersburg - White nights
Indanthrene Blue, Indigo, Azure, Ultramarine, Turquoise Blue,
Neutral Black
I also used white gouache which I prefer over white watercolor because it is opaque...
***Brushes: Raphael Softaqua
Round No 4 and 10 from 845 series
Flat No 12 and 22 from 915 series
Da Vinci Casaneo dagger brush No 10
Da Vinci detail brush

I can almost feel the warm waters in the Gulf as those dolphins swim by. Such a subtle stroke can make such a huge impact. Your dolphins are spot on. Beautiful!

Thank you for saying that. I am relatively new with my channel, so I am not surprised you did not come across it sooner. It is so nice and encouraging to hear something like that and be sure I appreciate it. Regarding you question about the paper being damp (and no, it is not silly - I love when you ask questions, cause it helps me to know what to pay attention to in the future) - I left it to dry when I did the first layer (at 1:32) and then painted on dry paper. It slowly dried while I was painting the details and dried completely after doing sun rays with a tissue (at 2:30) and before splashing and painting with white gouache. Since the paper is not pre wetted it dries faster and as I am painting the details they are drying pretty fast. :)
