This is a great water color of an iceland waterfall. I stood behind this actual waterfall a few months ago. Absolutely breathtaking.

fantastic painting tutorial Emily. You really captured that foggy mist and your lights and darks give the painting a 3D effect.

A waterfall! I love it! I’ve done one in the past, but this is much different. The greenery, the falling water, the spray at the bottom…just beautiful. What a wonderful gift this will make. Thank you so much for sharing your time and fantastic instructions. I so appreciate it.

It's so funny but when I see your painting at the beginning it looks like a photo, and when I see it at the end after the tutorial, I see that it is just a compilation of brush strokes. So crazy how our eyes see the complete image when our brain hasn't broken it down yet. I love your videos and am an experienced artist, but have never delved into watercolors. You make it so easy and relaxing to watch.

Really enjoyed this Emily, thank you! Nice that you showed us your couple of practice runs too- I often do that as it really helps to figure out what techniques you’ll use or what order you’ll paint your final piece in! Take care 😊

Hey Emily! Absolutely beautiful painting! I love the techniques you used to capture the essence of the waterfall! You said that this painting was on the last page of your journal, would you do a flip through video of all the paintings you did in the watercolour journal?!

Very well made tutorial! Thank you. I was wondering, you seem to prefer transparent brown oxide to burnt sienna/umber? Is that just because of the transparency or some other reason? Burnt sienna/umber is so ubiquitous in most palettes, but you seem to use transparent brown oxide as the main brown pigment.
@EmilyOlsonArt2 жыл бұрын
I use both almost equally. Burnt sienna is more red, and transparent brown oxide is more chocolatey. Both are so useful!
