I love your videos, I illustrate children’s books using watercolor on procreate. I have been erasing my edges the old fashioned way forever! I finally tried your selection trick and fussed with it for over an hour because it wasn’t working for me and I kept copy pasting the entire thing. I finally realized I had color fill selected 😂😂😂 thank you so much for the tips!

Calvin - love your videos. Yesterday I downloaded your watercolour brushes. Completed 1 project (extremely happy) but today I was definitely having issues. You were so helpful and supportive and with a bit of brainstorming with you, I am back on track for another masterpiece. Thanks again. Looking forward to your next video. Donna.

Hi Donna! Thank you so much for your support ❤️ in order for the sketch layer to be useful, you have to make sure it's set to 'multiply'. Can you messaged or email me about this? I really want to help you with this :)

You are AH👏🏻MAZING👏🏻. Thank you so much for the videos. I am not very good at drawing and painting or even a straight line for that matter. But I am trying to do new things and this has been so helpful. So much is like photoshop (I am a photog) and I was getting frustrated not being able to do it. You actually helped a lightbulb moment of something I was stumped on today! Thank you so so much. I am excited to “paint”!

Awesome, just bought the brushes, question, how do you get the paper texture?
@coltonwright58664 жыл бұрын
Your brushes and papers are the best! Phenomenal tutorial as usual. On another note, what laser printer did you get? And did you use it to make that decal at the beginning?
@calvinatdrifterstudio84384 жыл бұрын
Aww, thank you so much! Yes, I used the new printer to make that example in the beginning :] It's a canon imageClass mf643Cdw, one of the cheapest color laser printers available. I'll do a separate review of this once I figure out how to configure all the settings to get the best results.

Hey Calvin, i finally had time to try this one, and its fun! Thanks again for a great video with good explanation. As my TS9150 Canon printer died 2 weeks ago i am looking for a new one. Is a laser really preferable over a inkjet these days for art prints?
@aprilbreeze_89494 жыл бұрын
Could you recommend a printer that prints that well? My hp later color printer died and I think it was due to printing on thick paper (about 180g~200g) I will print on 180g Max from now on. A printer that prints this well will do. Watching your tutorial was so helpful and it looks so fun, I can't wait to try out your brush kit. I've been looking for a realistic watercolor brush kit and water color paper effect for ages now and I think I will no longer have to look for one. Finally! Thank you! I subscribed and liked your channel!
@calvinatdrifterstudio84384 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your support :] I really recommend printing your artwork with a Laser Printer. I used this one in my videos: amzn.to/3q2mKk7 If you use a laser printer, you can print on any type of paper. Even very thick/cheap cardstock paper. The result is always amazing and vibrant, and the shadow areas will not blend together. The paper I buy only costs about $2 for 100 sheets. Also, the laser print is easy to maintain. If you have a printing problem, you can take it apart (carefully!) and usually see the issue. A laser printer does not have any complicated technology that can break/clog/ or wear out. laser print ink is expensive, but you will never worry about running out of ink because it will last for over 1000 prints.

If you want to print images from procreate, do you need to change the color profile from RGB to CMYK? 😊
@calvinatdrifterstudio84384 жыл бұрын
Hi! Usually it's fine to print RBG because most printers do a great job sorting out the colors. If you're having trouble with some colors, for example yellow is printing out sort of green, you can use another program to convert to cmyk. A lot of image editing software has features that can help. I also think there are a few apps that can do it to. Keep in mind that CMYK is an inferior color space - you can always convert your art to CMYK, but you cannot turn it back into vibrant RGB. This is why I prefer to paint in RGB. I can always change it to cmyk later :)

This was wonderful! QUESTION: What kind of paper would you recommend printing these on? I have a few completed pieces using your products that I want to send off to print but have no idea what paper to choose...
@calvinatdrifterstudio84384 жыл бұрын
Aww, ty so much! Usually a printer will offer a few options. I recommend getting a 'Matte' print on heavy paper. Anything from 150gsm to 250gsm will be pretty thick paper. A playing cards is about 180gsm. Let me know what options you have and I can recommend something 😊 feel free to email me
