Today I played with digital images from The Greeting Farm. They have been releasing the most fun digital sets recently! All of them are very timely and relevant to the world we all live in at the moment. When I saw the Movie Night set and the Hello From Home set, I just knew I had to get them and create a couple cards!

I absolutely Love,, Love , Love them🥰❤❣ My Brother in law had two light boxes so he gave me one of them, I've never used one because I always draw my Cards if I don't have stamps. But I Love this light Box and I'm so thankful that he thought of me. He also go a larger Paper trimmer so he gave me one also😊😊😊😊😊 I have a pretty amazing Brother in law. I have an Epson WorkForce printer that uses their DuraBrite inks. When we needed a replacement printer a few months ago, I made sure to get one that uses those inks, as they are water-resistant. I hesitate to say waterproof, but they hold up really well anyway. In fact, I once inadvertently left a printout outside in the rain. The paper didn't survive in the end, but the image I had printed on it didn't run at all! LOL So I just use that or my laser printer for printing digital images to color. I have found my Tombow & Zig water-based markers do make the ink run, so if I will be using those, I use my laser printer. The way I get around using heavier watercolor paper is to cut it to the size I need first. After I size the image in Photoshop, I draw a light grey, 2 pixel box around the "canvas" perimeter (making sure the box is on a separate layer), then print it on regular computer paper. I adhere my watercolor (or bristol) paper to that (lining up the edges of the paper with the box line) with temporary tape runner adhesive, then run it through my printer again, after hiding the box layer. That way, the image prints on the heavier paper, and the printer doesn't jam. Works like a charm! I hope that all makes sense. It sounds like a lot, I know, but it really doesn't take very much time. I'm sure you could do the same thing with Photoshop Elements, though I don't know how to translate it to any other graphics/photo program, as I only use PS. Anyway, I really like how your images turned out, Kristina! You did a great job on the painting, even on the girl's hair in the first image. I sometimes have to leave my work for the Brownies (spirits, not Girl Scouts) to come "fix," so I know what you mean! LOL Thank you so much for sharing these cards and tips. Kristina you nailed it. Such adorable cards! I'm a Star Trek TNG fan and those that followed. In Deep Space 9, my friend played Leeta a Dabo girl at Quarks. So when a Star trek convention was here I'd be there. Met so many of the Star trek family. I havent subscribe yet to watch Picard but heard it is very well done. I hope these are made into a stamp set. Hugs stay safe and healthy.

When I was learning to paint, I was going out to classes, by the time I drove home, the Boot (trunk) fairy's had fixed my painting and it always looked better by the time I got home. Yes we are our own worst critics. A friend asked me sometime ago, why I dont show my paintings, I said I dont think I'm good enough, she told me I need counselling, ironically, she is a cousellor. You Can use any printer you have, you just have to heat set the ink with an iron 🤔 i dont have waterproof ink, and heat setting it when its printet, works 😜

So interesting! Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately, personally I would still have the thick watercolor paper problem. My printer won’t pull it in to print on it. So I’ll just use my light pad. :)

Thanks for the tip. I'm trying this. I purchased TONS of Power Poppy stamps digitally because I just love them. I printed them on watercolor paper, and then realized (I'm a newbie) that the ink smears w/ watercolors. I was SO disappointed. I'm going to iron them and see what happens. I also discovered that there is a special ink cartridge I can buy for watercoloring that won't smear. Thanks again!

Interesting! I am interested to try your technique out. I use Copic when I print my images out using my inkjet and it bleeds too so hoping your technique will work on watercolors and copic :D

Love your watercoloring...always fascinating to watch! REALLY prefer cutting out images as close as possible...despise the white border look, which is why I seldom buy matching dies. I know you had an issue with the wires in the image though... Just downloaded some absolutely delightful free digital images on Impression Obsession.

Your card is so cute and I love that you loved Picard. Totally worth the subscription price for CBS All Access. Star Trek Discovery is good, too. Waiting for it to come back for the next season. I have a printer that loads from the top so I can print on watercolor paper but not sure if the ink is compatible with watercolors.

I've been wondering about this very situation! I'm so glad that you posted this video. I'm primarily a watercolorist, and I've never purchased digital stamps, thinking I'd have no way to use them. If I would have just slowed down and thought about it, I'm sure I would have figured it out eventually! since quarantine, my brain has gotten a little fuzzy... Lol. I'm so glad you are working with these stamps! I have purchased all of The Greeting Farm's recent digi stamps but had never created with digi stamps before. I've arranged a few and printed them and colored in with copics. Watercoloring is a new use! Thanks for the new idea!

We have in Magengo store a SVG file for each digital stamp that allows you to sketch them with any pen or pencil on any type of paper using a silhouette machine or any other electrical machine @magengodesigns so you don't need to make the tracing 😊

I know that when working with the graphite transfer paper...tracing with a ballpoint pen works best for me.

I prefer thicker paper because of the texture and it can withstand lots of water (although I didn't use big washes or anything like that here). I didn't tape it down because I wouldn't be painting all the way to the edge and I knew I would be using minimal water. When I will be painting very large areas or all the way to the edge, the paper warps more so I always taoe it down. The mat I'm using is the last item listed in the supplies in video description.

Yes. Most inkjets use inks that smear with all moisture.

Kristina, did you have problems painting the image you transferred using graphite paper? In the past, I’ve used graphite paper to trace images onto watercolor paper which works great, however when I’ve used watercolor to paint the picture, the graphite lines repelled the paint. After doing some research, I discovered there is waxed and wax-free transfer paper. I’m assuming the paper I was using had wax which probably is a normal characteristic of graphite. I plan on trying the wax-free transfer paper when I can get out to a craft store although some people have said it doesn’t work very well. One brand I found is called Saral and I think Hobby Lobby has their own.
