Very, very good teaching about color mixing and using the brush rather than a tissue or kitchen towel (paper towel) for clouds. I’m going to give this a try. I’m really interested in how one buys the unique sand color you’ve made or how we mix it. Also, I’ve been waiting for someone to be smart enough to provide watercolor paper sheets within their “how-to” books. Congratulations on being smart and thank you for teaching us.

Have admired and been inspired over the last 10 years and more by your fabulous landscapes. I took up painting about 15 years ago after 34 years of not touching a brush since leaving school. How I wish I hadn't left it so long. However I've sold many paintings and exhibited locally. I've noticed, that you no longer use or recommend Windsor and Newton art materials. You always said Charles that they were the best in "your humble opinion". Is there a particular reason for this? I look forward to your comments and will continue to be inspired by your wonderful KZbin demos. Eric Mazurek.
@charlesevans77064 жыл бұрын
Eric Mazurek simple really, I think Winsor’s took their eye of the ball a bit. And Daler-Rowney reformulated their paints.
@ericmazurek23434 жыл бұрын
@@charlesevans7706 Thanks for that Charles. Either way, I'll still be inspired by whichever brand you use. I do have several pieces of D R equipment ie paper, Aquafine brushes and paints. If you use them, there's no reason for me to do otherwise. Loved the paintings in your garden. Just shows you don't have to have a wonderful landscape in fro t of you to produce an interesting painting. Regarding technics, I haven't pre stretched watercolor paper for at least 10 years. In my art group, occasionally a local artist, being a friend of a colleague comes to the group with a few tips etc. He couldn't believe until I proved it that there was no need to stretch the 140 lb paper. Please Contin with your videos. I wish you continued success. Take care and be safe.

On this video you make a left turn and say that Aquafine Paints (Which I began with because they were the only thing the local Walmart carries) are your go to paint. I also noticed that your shirts are coded to the gear you are using. Is it a sponsor thing? Or do you believe that Aquafine is as good as W&N Artist paints?
