This is a great video. I want to thank you for taking the time to teach me. I don't have allot of funds and this is a great way for me to learn. Your a great teacher and you explain so much and the reason why to do something, or to not do something . I'm going blind so before I can't see I think this is a great way to look and appreciate color and as well as something to leave my kids

Thank you. You are an awesome painter and a great teacher. I also love how "down to earth" you are and that you show us your family. Your husband did a great job 😏 on his painting. That was so much fun watching you both. Have a blessed day and thanks again for sharing.

I love and appreciate your videos so much. I have been doing watercolor for a little while but really struggled with a commission I did recently and felt I needed to go back and revisit the basics. Your videos are perfect for this! You cover all the topics I need and explain things so well. THANK YOU!

Watercolor magic! That’s why I love watercolors so much! This would have been especially fun to do at Easter with Easter eggs. Kids would love to create their own magical eggs on the paper. 🥚🥚🥚

I’m absolutely LOVING these drills videos! Thank you! One that I’ve been craving is a perspective exercise. How do you paint the same flower when it’s pointing forward, left, right, up, and down. That’s been one of my biggest challenges and I haven’t quite figured out the pattern for it yet. Thanks so much for your videos. I really appreciate you!

I really enjoy your videos. I’m doing an online course right now that is all about wet on wet, and I’m really struggling. Sometimes I get it, and I’m so happy with my results. Then everything goes downhill. I’ve been working on one piece that just isn’t coming together, and I’m really frustrated. My husband told me to take a break and try something else. You were the first person I thought of, and this will be a fun one! (I actually did it once before, and really enjoyed it. Time for another session!)

Great video, thanks so much! I was definitely using way to much water before!!! I would follow a tutorial and kept wondering: why is her or his paint flowing out so beautifully and mine is just staying in place??? I really didn't know what was happening. So am very glad you made this video! I have really learned to do exercises instead of just jumping in to painting and then messing it up... I have made some nice items for sure, but always felt it wasn't quit there, so these drills are really something I have to put on my painting planning. And indeed, it is very relaxing to do. So after a day at the office, sit in my studio and doing these drills is something to look forward to :)

Just want to point out regarding color bleads and color opposites. As long as the colors are analogous (next to each other on the color wheel) they will blend without mud or Grey muted tones. Anytime three primaries mix you get muck. Two secondaries and a primary or just two-color opposites make muck. Color opposites or complimentary colors contrast each other making them pop but if mixed you get mud. So, compliments are used to mute. If your red is too bright a touch of green will subdue the brightness. Too much and it is brown. In hair color, if someone's hair is too red (red brown) coloring it with green brown will neutralize without going too dark.

Working on this for 2 hours and I have a way to go. I definitely got brown, so know that I am overworking. Plus, nothing was light and airy. I am kind of frustrated, but I can circle on my paper three or four things that look ok. This was my third time doing this drill. I suppose I am being hard on myself. I was using 50 percent rag paper and figure that was part of the problem.

So mine aren’t really bleeding and drying extremely fast. Is it because they are cheap paper and paints
@deedeeabbott98394 ай бұрын
I'm practicing- sheen not pools-but mine don't seem to be wet enough? no spread of color, just drops that I can then move around...I don't see anyone else commenting about with this issue...might someone offer advise? I'll keep trying!
