How to paint the eye in monotone using Manganese Blue and Indigo Blue.
I have used this method often and find it a wonderful way to learn tonal values.
My process is building layer upon layer. When you start out with soft layers is easier to fix mistakes and build a likeness as you go, adding depth.
Once you are confident in painting with a monotone palette, the transition to colour is much easier.
Here I demonstrate how to layer your watercolour to build depth and tone.
The colours I am using are Manganese Blue by Windsor and Newton
& Indigo Blue by Art Spectrum.
My paper is Arches hot pressed 300gsm
My brushes are a number 6 round Silver Black Velvet ( I adore these brushes)
