Love, love, love Beam paints!! I have 10 watercolour "paint stones" and two gouache. They are stunning! I have 3 of the mica, the salmon is particularly amazing. I also got a Beam travel brush - size 4 - it is actually pretty much my favourite brush! I'd like to get more, likely Orca and Rainforest. So happy to see you supporting this wonderful Canadian Indigenous female owned small company. Beam absolutely deserves our support and respect!

The more I see these paints being used, the more I want to get some. They're so beautiful and so pigmented!! It's awesome too to support a business run by women who are also First Nation. This point in addition to how awesome the paints themselves are, that they strive to be plastic free and eco friendly make me want to own these paints more than anything. It hits all the right notes for me..... natural ingredients, eco friendly packaging, supporting indigenous women.

@cecilehoare30533 жыл бұрын
For the gouache ones, yes. But what's wrong with supporting women in small business? I don't find spending money on art supplies a waste of money, it's cheaper than therapy and get more enjoyment out if it! I think I will invest in the pigment stones, having a collection of them gives my family the option for gift ideas!
@peregrinecentre3 жыл бұрын
@@cecilehoare3053 Nothing at all wrong with supporting women in business, or men come to that or even children. I just think that a business transaction should be fair and honest. It looks as if those paints are very weak in pigment. When Emma let them dry they went very light, even lighter than normal paints do, and we all know that watercolours dry lighter. Of course it’s hard to tell exactly when watching on a screen so I could be mistaken. Also there is often a lot of reflected light on the videos from Emma’s studio which makes it hard to see exactly what the colour depth is. However I am grateful for the heads up about this new manufacturer. I don’t have anything against supporting small businesses, being a small business owner myself I would be a hypocrite not to support others. Which is why I am on here commenting on this channel.

Looks like Daniel Smith dot cards 😹 Sorry but $60 for a tiny palette based primarily on esthetic doesn't make them worth it to me.
@paintingtheskykingdom90053 жыл бұрын
i hope she will let us know how they compare to dot cards, like if it ix twice or 3 times as much. Also , they are handmade and it sounds like they have more pigment in them (meaning they will last longer) than commercial paints, even daniel smith.

The little cookies look cool but they’re not very practical for everyday use - it’s just something to treat as a novelty. One thing that came to mind was that because you have to scrub away at the paint with your brush to get it out of the holes you will end up making your brush lose its point very quickly if you’re not careful. That is one of the downsides of using any kind of pan paint. Particularly when it’s in such a small hole with no space around it to spread the paint out from the dry reservoir area.
@EmmaLefebvre3 жыл бұрын
@@peregrinecentre that is a good point. I think yes, these small palettes are more like a novelty to have. They do have bigger paints that are not in these wood cookies too.

Sure does waste of lot of good pigment on paper towel & water jar which would’ve easily been wiped down the sides of an extra palette. Just my opinion. Great tutorial as always.
