You are so adorable and you had an adorable little boy. You seem so happy with your life. It makes your watercolors wonderful too. When l am down my paintings show it but when l am happy my paintings reflect it. I just love the way you control 5he water. Water has a way of being the boss but your relationship with it is simpatico. Congratulations with your wonderful teaching. You are so good. I hope you know that.

Oh my goodness! Thank you! I am a total beginner and you are very inspiring. I just recently realized that it is loose florals that I am most interested in doing, and that is when I started watching your videos. This one helped me so much in understanding and separating in my mind, the difference between a "blend", and a " bleed". Something that should have been obvious I suppose, but you helped solidify it in my mind. Thank you! Your work, your skill at presentation is *almost* as lovely as you are! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and skills.

I have struggled to try to tackle loose florals/florals at all because I'm new to watercolor (2 months), but even with all the floral tutorials out there, your videos are the first that I've seen that make me want to keep going. Thank you! 😊

Emma your tutorials are wonderful! I am just starting out in watercolor and I’m having difficulty finding good paper that I can afford to practice on. I took your advice and got the Bee watercolor paper. I guess I should have waited to get better paints. I bought the professional grade paints but with crappy paper it’s just a waste. Having better luck with the Bee paper. I want to try the Arches but it’s just not in my budget right now.

@travismorganrhoades51946 жыл бұрын
I would love to see how you create some of these colors! I just received my first set of watercolor paints for Christmas and am a complete newbie to ANY kind of painting. I know the possibilities are endless with mixing colors, but any tips on mixing to get some colors very similar to those you are using? I follow you on IG and basically asked for the Winsor & Newton Cotman tube paints you posted about using most often a while back, so I have all of these tubes and I’m not sure where to go from here or how to create these gorgeous shades you are making! I know a lot of it is trial and error and just playing around with colors, but I also don’t want to waste paints and a ton of time trying to create them and then ending up with something not at all the right color! 😂🤦🏻♀️
@EmmaLefebvre6 жыл бұрын
Travis & Morgan Rhoades awesome that you got some of those paints for Christmas! My first suggestion is to squeeze some of each paint into your pallet and let it dry over night. This helps them last a long time rather than using them straight out of the tube! I do suggest you play around with the colours because mixing is half the fun. And if the paints are dry, you won’t waste much at all. As for these colours that I’m using, it’s mostly pure permanent rose for the pink colour, permanent rose mixed with a bit of yellow for the peach colour, and then a light wash of purple for the purple colour. For that sage green I mix a dark green with a bit of purple! Hope that helps a bit!
@travismorganrhoades51946 жыл бұрын
Emma Lefebvre That’s very helpful! Thank you so much for the fast reply! I did go ahead and squirt a good amount of paint from each tube into my palette last night - I’ve watched all of your videos and remembered you saying that in at least one of them. ☺️ So I did that last night and they are mostly dry this morning. I can’t wait to play around with them some more! Thank you for taking the time to share your art and skills with us!

where can I find your video explaining about paper quality and perhaps about the brushes you use. I have been practicing and getting really nice results....quite surprised myself even....but the paint doesn't seem to blend as yours does. I am using Canson cold-pressed 300g-140lb paper. Is there anything else I should be looking for in paper? I am extremely pleased that I have found your tutorials....easily learning many new techniques from a great teacher.

Jane Abramowitz kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoHIq4Fjd7xmqZI is the video where I talk about paper. I use arches watercolour paper. It’s 100% cotton which I think may be what makes it better quality. As for brushes, I use Princeton Snap brushes. I got them at a work shop and just continued to use them. I don’t really have a preference for brushes or really see much of a difference. I just make sure that I get round watercolour brushes. Hope that helps!
