I prefer your interpretation by far from the book artist's bc its seems to represent the original image in a more pleasing way (to me, anyway). I do think the instructions were a bit confusing, too. Still, its a great way to learn - I'll have to check the kit out.

Great work on this! I got this book too when I seen drawing wiff waffles video. It is so great and have been making my way though it slowly. I might make a video on it too 🙂 I like the second attempt but do think that is great thing about both 🙂💜

@@SarahNewburyArt it is really good, but am finding some part difficult I think as the translation may be off in places, especially for the lamp post in lesson 3. I'm up to lesson 4 now, I am learning little things here and there and it is great to paint something without having to plan what to paint.

Thank you! Yes, it was quite an extravagant purchase... I'm hoping it will pay off in terms of helping me to improve my skills and techniques.. I think there are also smaller sets if you wanted to give it a try?

Interesting! Building and layering watercolor is exactly where i struggle. Mine can often be too flat or get too blotchy. How did you like the paper? Final thoughts on these brushes compared to what you normally use? And finally, first impressions on the paint itself compared to what you normally use. Nice job! I especially liked your thought process on the color mixing along the way😁

Hi Heather- thanks for your comment! The paper is okay- though I think the example paintings must have been done on a much rougher paper? I think I still prefer my Escoda brushes but maybe the ones in this kit just need a bit of getting used to?- I love the paints though, they wet really easily and seem really vibrant. I usually tend to add too many layers in my watercolour paintings, leaving them looking a bit dull once they're dry, so hopefully this book will help me to improve! 😊😊🎨

Hi Mariane! This kit does seem expensive on the face of it -but having considered putting together a kit like this myself and having costed it all out, it's not such a bad price. The supplies inside are good quality and the step by step lessons you learn will stand you in good stead for future projects of your own. You get 17 lessons in this book with all the supplies included. Hope this helps 😊
