I decided to try and learn watercolor painting . I was told about your videos and have really enjoyed my week. I have done each lesson and dated my papers. I am enjoying the relaxing time of painting. At 72, I am still learning.

You know your video is good when you go to drink your coffee while watching the muting of colours and the paint brush pokes you in the nose because you didnt notice it was the brush water you were about to drink.

Thank you so much! I have really enjoyed watching your videos. Your voice and style of painting is so calming. I have started my watercolor journey and enjoy sharing time with my grandchildren. Ages 4 through 16! We have sat together painting, talking, and listening to music. I treasure it all!

Hi Emma. Really loved this tutorial. Last Christmas I gave some watercolour supplies to a friend as a gift. She is really enjoying it. Thus, I shared your watercolour week with her. It's very well done and clear explanations. I hope she will like it as much as I did. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Have a great 2023!

This is easily one of, if not the, best video on basic color theory that I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a *lot*. Idk if you ever made a part two to talk about mixing the same temperature colors, but if not, I would love to hear your take on that. You explain concepts so beautifully and clearly. You have the soul of a teacher.

Jenna Rainey had a beginner watercolor class today, which was very good. I personally thought it was a bit much for a beginner. Jenna is an excellent watercolor artist and I appreciate all her work and videos. I think your week long beginner series has been outstanding for beginners and very easy to understand. Again I adore Jenna Rainey. But I think this is a little bit more beginner friendly. By the way I'm not a beginner but I know what I went through when I first started.🎨

One day while playing around with mixing colors, I found adding a little payne's gray to reds, purples, greens & blues give a rich, darker muted color that is lovely. ;D

I‘m really into colour mixing and colour theory lately and discover the world of pigments. It‘s so fascinating! I‘m really angry with myself as I‘ve got no clue what my old colours really are - no labels on my little cubesto solve the riddle. 😩 But all my new colours are swatched and labelled and noted down exactly! 😂 So thank you for introducing the viewers to the importance of that topic! ❤

Thank you Emma 😊 even though I'm a watercolor artist it's good to go back to basics once in awhile just to refresh your mind on color's. I'm glad you did these videos. I have a hard time with shadows and what color I should use for those shadows on objects. I can blend very good. Some shadows are hard to figure out. Glazing and shadows like your glazing over a objects plus you have a shadow? It's hard for me to explain 😕. Anyway thank you again. 😊 Have a blessed day. FLORIDA

you did an excellent job of making color theory more relatable, doesn't the result of your mix also depend on what's in your colors [if the pigment is pure or not]?

I love this and it’s very well explained. I’m curious on one thing though. Isn’t it very difficult to recreate a blended color again? Let’s say I mix a yellow and green. There are a few variables in this. So if I wanted the same shade another time, isn’t it hard to do?
@EmmaLefebvre
@EmmaLefebvre Жыл бұрын
Not really when you know the colours you mixed. If you’ve tried to re-create the mix and it seems like it’s not exactly the same try adding different amounts of one colour to try and match it the best you can. It’s all about playing around and getting to know your colors.
