Great card. I hadn’t heard of the rice technique but I use rock salt in the same way and it works too. 😊

Its exactly the same technique but gives a slightly different effect :)

I have never heard of the “rice” technique. I can see how beautiful it makes your night sky. Love this wonderfully beautiful card!

I only learned of it recently too. There is also the "salt" technique... same thing, but with salt. That would work too! Thanks for watching!

Neat card, love it. Course salt sprinkled on wet water color makes for a cool back ground also.

Linda what a wonderful tutorial. I am not at that stage of learning yet, but boy, do I like this card. And what I liked is really you don't need the stamp set as you kind of "painted" over the islands with plain brush strokes. In my situation with no stamp set, I could draw island and mountain shapes with the aquapainter. So glad I found you a few months ago and subscribed. XX Mal, Melbourne, Australia

Thanks so much for your comment Mary-Ann! Im glad you found me too. I guess I use the stamp set to guide me, but you are correct.... you could achieve a similar effect without it. I find that the stamps give people confidence to go ahead and get it on the page.

We did something similar to this in art class, but using coarse salt instead of rice.
