Looks like someone had a cracking few days riding behind some great traction. The paintwork on 50021 is amazing.... top job by whoever did that. I can remember as a teenager seeing these thrash through Taplow station and the majority of em were in a right state. Now, some 40+ years on, these are the pride and joy of some and still being enjoyed by many enthusiasts. I was down at Basingstoke visiting dad and thought about coming down with him but as he's wheelchair bound, didn't think we'd enjoy it, so a big thanks for the long video for us to enjoy. Regards Steve

Thanks for posting this. I live in a desert and there are no passenger train stations for hundreds of miles... so to my eyes it's like you live in some sort of fantasy land, with all that greenery, brightly painted trains, and picturesque train stations. I'm feeling quite envious... but glad to see it.

Great video you should do more 'out and about' stuff you are good at it. Best for me was the sounds of the diesels just emphasises how loud in real life they are.

See if I can help you with the HST,if I’m wrong please anyone correct me as far as I know the prototype power cars had a shunting control cabinet similar to the UNDMs on the underground 72/73 etc stocks there was even head and a tail light ,on the production I think this idea was dropped as they would operate in semi fixed formations ,the guard occupied this area and the small window and an extra side window was provided ,but, the guards complained about excessive noise and fumes hence the TGS coach now the guards got a nice office instead of being in the mail/parcel etc area latter builds of power car didn’t feature the guards compartment so no need for the extra small windows ,some earlier power cars too got altered ,hope this helps maybe not spot on but as an ex railman I pick up these bits and bobs All the best my dear Mark 😊😊
