I love this video. It reminds me of when I spent a week in the lake district in the 1980s. I took a bus from Keswick to Windermere and then I walked from Windermere to Grasmere. On the way I walked through Ambleside. What a beautiful day it was And I loved Ambleside.

Great video Alan enjoyed it. The room and grub looked very nice, shame about the weather on the day. We love sitting out in that beer garden, when you’ve got a nice sunny day. We are looking forward to returning to the lakes in a couple of weeks time. It’s been a good few months since we last climbed a Wainwright. The in collection hotel group are always good value ❤

Morning Alan we were at our friend's farm yesterday and just couldn't get any signal to watch this ! Looks a lovely place and you gave a good honest review seeing as though it was an independent one. The views outside were beautiful towards the lake even in not so good weather. Your room was really nice, perfect for two and great to have a bath 🙂 You looked cold in the dining room with your hoody on but the food looked tasty though :) Sounded a great place, shame about your view but a lovely place and I liked your honesty at the end about other places you had stayed at 🙂👍~ Anna

The only negative was the view but to be fair is was not a deal breaker and we would go back again but in the warmer weather next time. Yes it was a bit chilly when we went down for dinner but we were one of the first in and it did warm up later on. Nice food and even Mrs Metalman ended up having all three courses, unusual for her. Great review boss when H and I went to the lakes years ago the weather was atrocious and we came back a day early. Bet it's great thou when the current buns out🌞👍

The lakes is brilliant but when it rains it can be a bit bleak, trust us to go in the rain :o). We will go back here again mind but will pick a summers day next time. Thanks very much for watching, cheers Alan

Good review Alan. We have stayed at The Swan in Grasmere a few times - always steady. Good to know there is another decent option for our trips to The Lakes as they do have some good deals. We stayed at The Seaburn Inn as needed to be close to Sunderland on Friday and were happy with it - that might be a good one for you to try out sometime to add to your Inn Collection reviews.

Thanks for the tip Wendy and a friend also told me she had a good stay there too. This one was fine to be fair, bit chilly on the evening but it was mid winter and on a warm summers evening it would be great sitting in that beer garden. Great review, Alan, been past the place many times, always wondered was it good. Food looked very good, setting is nice but very close to the main road, cars an lorries might wake you up early! Shame about the weather, but at least it wasn't stormy. I hope you took Linda for some shopping too!! Regards, Ashley

Unfortunately we had to head straight home the following day, as the boiler broke just before we set off, so had British Gas coming at 12.00 the next day - turns out some nameless person had knocked a switch off in the kitchen, thankfully we were overdue a service as well, so all was not lost :o). @@AlanMETALMAN These are the everyday things that happen and we look back on and laugh about. Lots of people here still without power. We were out for 10 hours but our son has been out for 2 days and baby due any time. At least the wind farms have been doing good!! this government will soon tell us to take out oil and gas boilers and freeze. Read about Drax powerstation near you - imports wood from canada, was converted from coal a few years ago, yet coal is more carbon efficient - it's all ridiculous!!

Looks like another good hotel in the Inn Collection group chain. A shame the Lakeland weather was typically Lakeland. So far we've only stayed at the Amble Inn which was pretty good. We have eaten at the Seaburn Inn a couple of times with mixed results.

Yes my friend stopped at the Seaburn Inn twice with 2 completely experiences :o). This one was one of their better Inns and on a summers day it would have been brilliant - shame I did not book a summers day :o(. Thanks very much for watching, very much appreciated, cheers Alan

Alan what the heck Brother, you’re looking 10 years younger 👍🏻 Another Amazing beautiful place and you always do top notch reviews Well not everything can have the best of views, but comfort, cleanliness and spacious to be able to relax and unwind in meets the needs. For me anyway It’s a bit more chilly to look all that inviting to enjoy outside I do love the tent and trailer atmosphere though I do love the town and shops , just beautiful scenic Food looked good, and like you said canned soup tastes good when it’s cold 🤭 Alan you and Mrs MM have a great week ahead and thank you for showing me around this area ❤️‍🔥🙏🏻🤟🏻

It was nice to get away, even for one night and we would go back there again but in the warmer weather as the views over the lake from the beer garden looked amazing. Another interesting insight, the inn colection hotels can deviate in quality. Not 5* however more than adequate. Your right the food at the Ripon Inn is pretty good, breakfast and dinner. Impressive with the food at Ambleside We stayed at the Inn colection near bassenwaite, and overall, it was not the best. Cheers al

It looks like a great place shame about the view from the room. The food in the dining room looked exceptional. Shame the heating wasn’t on when you arrived in the dining room that would’ve upset me a lot just watching this in rydal in our car trying to warm up after more Typical Lake District winter weather!

Yes the weather has not been the best of late but the first week in February looks like full sun all week in the lakes, so just booked another Sunday night away but at an old favourite the Premier Inn at Cockermouth - watch the weather change now :o).
