Waterfalls of North Carolina

This is a slideshow of spectacular waterfalls in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina. All of the photographs were taken by rcgehrzmd in June, 2013. Some of the waterfalls were reasonably accessible from the roadside, whereas others required long hikes along winding steep paths to remote areas that most people might never see. The heavy rains of this spring resulted in more water flow than usual, adding to the splendor of these unique displays of God's creation. The slideshow also includes awesome mountaintop vistas to provide a context for the many waterfalls that populate this landscape.
