In the case that one is modeling a water-distribution system for say an island but is restricted by the amount of pipes that the license allows one to model. How does one then prioritize in order to decide which pipes to model and which not to model.
does junction has to be provided only at consumer ends?
@bentleyopenflows3 жыл бұрын
Sourabh, the junction node element is used as an endpoint of a pipe (a pipe must have a node at each end), and does not necessarily need to have a demand (consumption). For example it can be used to model a transition from one pipe size or material to another, or to model a junction of two or more pipes.

How would this software describe any failures in the network??
@bentleyopenflows4 жыл бұрын
Hello Qasim, a network "failure" could be a pipe break, a stuck valve, or something else. WaterCAD and WaterGEMS can model a pipe break using a demand at a junction node, or an emitter coefficient (which models a pressure dependent demand). The Criticality tool enables you to see the impact of having to isolate pipe breaks, and you can incorporate pipe break history into pipe renewal planning. Hello, can this software be used to study the hydraulics of an Aquaponics system?
@bentleyopenflows4 жыл бұрын
Hello Paul, WaterCAD and WaterGEMS can be used to analyze pressurized water networks with Newtonian fluids. With a given set of "knowns" such as outflow rate at certain point and assumed boundary hydraulic grade (water level), the program will route flow and calculate resulting pressure.

how can I licence it the software? I am a student. it asks license, please give me some clue
@bentleyopenflows4 жыл бұрын
Hello Tarekegn, check with your University IT or Engineering department to see if they have access to academic licenses of WaterGEMS or WaterCAD and can provide assistance. An academic license is also included with our book Computer Applications in Hydraulic Engineering: store.bentley.com/en/products/books/9781934493168--Computer-Applications-in-Hydraulic-Engineering

Rajendra, are you looking to use this for personal or academic use? If you work for an organization that has other Bentley products under a subscription, contact your Site Administrator to download WaterCAD and you can use it in trial mode for up to seven days. If this is for personal use, see: education.bentley.com/
