Your orchid lights up the space. I've bought orchids for for my home, but did not know how to care for them. Your videos showed me what to do and what not to do. Thanks.

I've been using the weekly ice cube method on my orchid (with no fertilizer) for 8 years and it worked great for me since I had killed plants in the past by forgetting to water or overwatering. However, my orchid will have only one flower spike that would last maybe a few months. It definitely doesn't flower as much or bloom for as long as you described in a previous video. I'm going to try your watering method and pick up some fertilizer. Thank you for all of your videos!

They need fertilizer and lots of light. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnvKpWpprK-Kns0

Thanks for this. I stop telling people to not use ice cubes! I would never. Mine always get infested with mealy bugs so badly before I notice, that I pitch them. I rarely have them long enough for them to develop the intricate branching like your lovely specimen.

Idk what kind of orchid I got but I bought an orchid in a nice planter for $75 for my fiance for our first Valentines day as a couple. She used one ice cube a week to water it, because that's what she'd been told forever, it died though, I believe because it was under watered or inconsistently watered. I've learned alot about how to care for them since. Proper watering was the first topic I researched lol

I love how many side shoots and buds you have on one plant! Any tips? I don't have trouble getting my plants to bloom consistently but I don't get as many buds.

inside and out side containers can be treated the same way.

Could you do a video regarding chitin? Is there research to back up the claims of chitin activating the plant's defense mechanism thus helping against pest?

I have not seen any valid science yet - it certainly won't help orchids growing in chunky media.

@@Gardenfundamentals1 oh sorry I didn't specify that I was talking about plants in general. I was trying to see if it would be worth adding to my container mix. As far as I can tell it's is definitely good for slow release nitrogen but too expensive to be used just for that.
