If a chemical's particle is small enough then it can pass through the filter along with the water so, the water which came out of the life straw may not contain any diseases however it still contains all the random chemicals from things they have cut before with the waterjet.

Except it was apple juice. You can see the liquid from the bowl is lighter than what he put in the box at 1:28 & you can also see a condensate ring from his thumb on the outside of the cup which only happens with a liquid colder than ambient temp. So unless he stuck a cup of piss in the fridge for a while & it got darker before he put it in the box, they made a switch. DECEIVED!

I have 35 years in the water filtration business. The spaghetti like substance you see is actually what we call a straw membrane as you’re sucking the water through the only molecules that can get through the membrane are the water molecules anything larger is filtered out

These things are for completely different applications than a reverse osmosis filter. These things were originally made so that poor bush people in Africa could have access to drinkable water. They're mainly used for either passing out to people in Africa or for survival situations where you're trapped out in the woods and are going to have to be living off of puddle water and stuff.
