I just discovered your videos as we are beginning to plan our Sept '24 trip to London (first timers). Loved your Heathrow to Central London vid via the Heathrow Express/cab as I was just researching that exact topic. Your videos are very throrough and easy to follow. I am not concerned at all about getting around by train and underground. We also love cruising so I will check out your cruise videos as well. Keep it up.

Your videos are really helping me prepare mentally for my first trip to London in Oct 23! A few questions, Did you change out your sim card in your iphone? Does it affect ApplePay? Public transportation is what Im worried about most because we will be there for 2 weeks and have so many places to see. Any other tips about the underground and railway youd like to share? We did not change sim cards. We use Verizon and added their Travel Pass option which worked very well. We have used it on both our London trips. Did not affect Apple Pay. Only advice about the Underground is to look carefully at the walking distance to your destination before committing to the Tube. With the long walks underground to the platforms (many platforms are very deep underground) and then the wait at the platforms themselves, many times its quicker to walk. The cabs are also very convenient and plentiful. Rail stations are efficient with helpful people stationed strategically to answer questions. travel is very straightforward and easy. London is a very easy city to walk in. Have a good time.

What is the cost to ride train from Waterloo station with return?

It cost us $25.20 for the two of us in US Dollars. Probably about the same today. One tip, for this trip you are better off actually buying the printed tickets at the station rather than using contactless payment. Hope this is what you needed.

Getting off at Datchet wouldn't have solved your problem with contactless payment as the last station as its only valid within Greater London. As such you would have needed to get off at Feltham.

Yes, that is what we eventually found out, but it was not a huge deal, and we enjoyed the trip.
