Your Dad was that wind shift you got from behind at the finish. He pushed his 3 amazing sons ahead. Full respect brothers. You did a massive thing for your mum too by honouring her husband.

Congrats on the win! Sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. Indeed your dad would be proud. My dad (die hard sailor) and I started building a rowcruiser for R2AK but he passed away of cancer before he could see it finished. I’m hoping to do R2AK 2022. Just completed the sailing Rowcruiser and have been out dialing it in along the socal coast. Thanks for the inspiration!

Awesome video guys. We were on the Van Isle 360 and saw R2AK boats sailing past at all hours of the day and night. One particularly cold night we were ashore at Telegraph cove and while at a party we could see one of the R2AK boats sailing past. From my warm vantage point, with friends, drinking a beer and looking out the window I was really glad I wasn't out there too. Congratulations on a feat accomplished! Swan OxoMoxo

So awesome guys. ❤ the tribute factor. I grew up sailing w my dad too. He had all sorts of sailboats, including a first design of a trimaran w/ folding pontoons for trailering. So many memories of “hiking out” on the windward pontoon (just the right amount of weight at age 12!). Many adventures in Long Isl. Sound and Nantucket. Would love to see a tour of your cool vessel! (If you still have it?).

As I said and strongly encouraged after your first vid about this race, you really really need to submit this to the Banff Mt Film Festival. It needs more films like this infused into its programming and competition. Please! Thanks for another most awesome video!

Right on! I understand. Banff just needs more like what you produce for sailing since they rarely, if ever, have any films that feature what we do. Thanks for all you do for the waters of the World!

The boat was built to the open 8.5 Multihull rule in New Zealand, originally to a John Tetzlaff design, it was then owned by Pete Melvin who put new floats of his own design on it.

Assuming you didn't know, looking at beginning of the video, get some Shimano or Look bicycle pedals and shoes. It will make a Huge difference compared to pedalling barefoot or with running shoes... actually, it would help to do some basic research on the optimal distance from the pedals to the seat. Awesome boat
