I was doubtful, but this recipe tastes both spicy and deliciously refreshing! I'll keep it in mind for every watermelon season.

I am going to try this when the watermelon 🍉 season comes & will judge it only and only then! 😜 I like the combo of the watermelon and feta salad 🥗

Just make sure your calendar has some extra pages for all those watermelon breaks. 🤤😍 Great combo tough!!

I am almost 70 yrs old. I cannot vouch for the regional origin of this curry, but my maternal grandmother (Who hailed from the princely estate of Azamgarh & was married in a place called Saharanpur, UP, India,) would serve us this 'tarbooz ki sabzi' with pooris..(She would also retain some of the juicy light green pulp on the pieces, found just under the dark green skin too). We kids got it as a special treat in the 1950's & 60's.

Crazy to think that tomatoes are fruits and people love them as a savory sauce. This would be interesting to try.

I mean fruit doesn't mean sweet. It just means "ripened ovary, fleshy product of a tree or plant."
@Sarah-Gee Жыл бұрын
@@Amrylin1337 Gosh! I never thought of fruits as plants’ ovaries but, thinking about it, that does make sense! 😂

Sounds so blasphemous! 😛 On a second thought, I think adding small shrimps might pump up the flavour profile to a whole different level! Will give a try sometime 👍😋

Kya bawa abhi jabhi tarbooz ka season jane ko hae, tabhi tumko ye curry yaad aayich.. People make different sweets and even sabzi with it's rind. I happen to eat watermelon with this one Egyptian bosun, who was astonished to see us eating only the pink part of the fruit. He asked us in his broken accent, why no finish this white part. We eat full in home..
