My best guess is that he's leaving the property, but it doesn't look like he wants to leave because of the way he's struggling. However, we do have the line "and you're just scared to leave," supporting the idea that not everyone views the property the same way. There are two sides to every story -- multiple perspectives to literally everything -- and while some may want to escape, others may be more comfortable leaving things as they are and not confronting their problems or trauma.
