Would it have been better to extend the membrane down a few more inches and actually go over the edge of the footing just to have a safety margin?

I think I would feel better having a drainage mat between the waterproofing and the back fill, especially if the basement is going to be finished. My biggest concern with using ICF for my build is getting the waterproofing right. Once water gets behind the waterproofing it could pond and end up drying to the inside.

In our area the full is extremely granular and drains quickly. For this reason I decided to forgo the dimple board.

what is the sprayer you was using? Did you get the water proofing from Nudura or where?

The sprayer is a Graco from the big box store. All of the waterproofing was nudura products.

@@cliff7634 So I was in contact with Nudura rep on this, and he said just use latex paint tip, and since it is water based, it was easy clean up, though sticky when aerosolized. I just used the tip that I always use for interior paints, and I can't think of the guage off hand. It worked well, but do it on a dry day. It took forever to tack up.

this is interesting... our builder didnt use that blue spray and only used the membrane at floor level. not all the way to the footing. they said thats how its supposed to be done? ....

Spray not needed. I elected to use it. Membrane needs to extend from finish grade to footer. Preferably over the footer and down the side of the footer by a couple inches. Check the nudura learning series to see how the manufacturer recommends install.

THanks for doing it right!! aparently some arent.

Nice application job. No bulges or bubbles or anything in the waterproofing! DEAD FLAT INSTALL! And nice careful backfill. If this place has water problems, you're looking at a Biblical flooding issue.
