I got the weatherproof matte & made some stickers for water bottles & they all smeared. I was hoping to sell stickers but I guess I’ll have to find another brand that won’t smear
@onlinelabels2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about the smearing! There are a few recommended steps you can take to make your prints more durable with inkjet printers. You can adjust the paper type and print quality settings within your printer options to achieve the most durable print quality. A paper type settings such as Photo, Glossy, Labels, or Heavy paper will provide the best results. A "Standard” or "Normal" print quality setting is also recommended since the "Best" setting could potentially oversaturate the special inkjet topcoat mentioned above. Try these steps and please feel free to reach out to our support team if you're still experiencing issues!

@@onlinelabels false. I use a $1000 printer and have it on best settings for print and paper and still smear. I sell as non waterproof. And have a whole new system for waterproof cuz the paper you sell as waterproof just isn't.

This may be a silly question but if you are using the labels for candle labels, is it safe to use a spray on the labels? I just imagine it becoming flammable.
@onlinelabels Жыл бұрын
Great question! Just make sure to allow the spray to completely dry before the candles are used!

my weatherproof matte inket laminated with oraguard 210 still has water creeping in the edges and ruining the entire design.

Can you provide some additional details? Can you confirm the Online Labels' product code you are using? What is the model of the inkjet printer you are using? What media type setting are you using in your printer options when printing onto the label material? Let us know and we can help troubleshoot the issue.

@@onlinelabels2 OL177WJ, using a Canon Pixma Pro 200, tried printing both pro luster and glossy settings (also tried matte but that makes the ink run/barely dry ever) using "high quality" print (otherwise the print is grainy). I then laminate it with Oraguard 210, 24 hours after I print. Then I cut the stickers on my silhouette cameo 4.
@onlinelabels3 жыл бұрын
@@Kemandime Thank you for providing the additional information. This may be due to over-saturation of ink. In our experience with the Canon Pixma line, printing on "normal" print quality provides the best results. If you're finding the print quality is becoming too compromised after lowering the setting, you can try using a clear coat protective spray after printing and before applying your laminate.
@Kemandime3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, not printing at high quality causes a very grainy image, akin to using a cheap printer. But if ink saturation is the issue, why is the problem only happening once water comes in contact with the edges?
@onlinelabels3 жыл бұрын
@@Kemandime If the topcoat is oversaturated, any ink that is not fully absorbed is potentially susceptible to smearing when in contact with moisture. In your specific application the laminate is being applied before the stickers are cut, so the edge of the label material is technically left exposed which can allow for moisture intrusion when in direct contact with water. The technical documentation for the Oraguard 210 laminate lists a few suggestions for optimal performance which may help resolve your issue. For heavy ink saturation they recommend a drying time of 48 to 72 hours before applying the laminate to the printed material. They also state that a minimum of 24 hours should be allowed before trimming or plotting the laminated material, with 48 to 72 hours being the preferred duration. If the laminated material is cut too soon, the edges of the laminated surface can show signs of shrinkage which makes the possibility of moisture intrusion greater. If you've tried making these adjustments to your application and are still experiencing issues, then you may need to consider a clear coat protective spray before applying your laminate to the printed material. Forgive the long response! Hope this helps!

I am using OL177CJ clear matte. Having issues with ink scratching even if left overnight (12+ hours). Have tried several of the "photo paper" settings on my EPSON ET 2750 Ecotank. Would the overcoat spray help seal in and protect the ink? Or would lowering the DPI to 300 help more? Thanks for the helpful videos!
@onlinelabels Жыл бұрын
There are a few setting adjustments we recommend to help. First, try setting Paper Type to “Premium Presentation Paper Matte” or “Premium Photo Paper Glossy.” We also recommend Quality be set to "Standard" as higher settings can oversaturate the page. If these settings don't work, you can try lowering the DPI to 300. If all else fails, an overcoat spray would certainly improve the durability of your prints. I hope this information helps! If you need further assistance, please reach out to us at 1-888-575-2235.

For custom printed oilproof labels, please check out our custom printed roll labels. They also feature a protective laminate that works great against oils. not sure if it was a bad 'batch' i received but the weatherproof labels suck. I needed them for my growing small business new product roll out, and these did not do what they claim they're supposed to do. I've read the reviews and response and even did all the recommendations but still the black ink using these labels run, smear, smudge all that. Disappointed b/c i paid a lot of money plus ordered multiple sizes, not to mention you don't receive a complete refund only partial. Maybe they're regular labels are good but if you're looking for waterproof go with AVERY labels.
