It's especially brutal if you've seen the SM64 Classified series by Greenio. In one entry, Luigi goes exploring the castle (which is always changing) while Mario watches as like a promotion for the game. Towards the end, Luigi swims into a cavern and Mario looks extremely concerned because he relizes that Luigi swam into a locked underground cavern. Mario is forced to watch his brother drown and can't do anything to save him, then the castle makes the "L Is Real" statue as a memorial, and that makes this song especially melancholic to me

I'm amazed at how someone manages to capture the essence of the game's "sad"/"soft" mystery side of things, while also being so calm, innocent, and beautiful to hear at the same time. It's not "trying" be a crazy banger song of flashy proportions, it's focused on expressing an emotion within a mystery of this iconic game. It's so simple and yet it works so well.... A "classic FNF-feeling" song in the modern area. Nice work! It strangely feels like Frostbite (FNF Hypno's Lullaby) in the "emotion" of classic FNF Smoke 'Em Out Struggle (Garcello), but in the style of Mario 64, and in the topic of "L Is Real". Beautiful, MASTERFUL work on this. Truly inspiring. I'm going to be listening to this for hours on end. XD

This is so much of a homage to L is real itself and the entire legacy that it manged to hold all these years. Sad it was sadly debunked because of the data leaks. But hey, all good things must come to an end. Funnily enough 24 years and 1 month at that lol This mod perfectly encapsulates that legacy it held with the music, the stage, everything about it. From the saddening yet mysterious tone of the song and area, to the underwater section reminding us that the mystery was never solved back in the day, he was trapped under there, while we all tried many different methods to unlock/somehow save Luigi in sm64... Thanks all of you for making my childhood memories come back to me once more!

i remember someone said that SM64 soundfont has this sort of "ethernal" vibe to it - it always sticks out. you can always FEEL it present. this song is the prime example. the water leitmotifs, despite being present throughout the entire song, feel so melancholic...and relentless. it doesnt try to drag you down by its own, yet by the sheer power of your own mind...this heavy feeling of loneliness - Luigi was planned to be in SM64! but due to hardware limits, all he has now is himself. noone else. the copypasta itself (L IS REAL) is a pure nostalgia trip back in the early days of the net. back when people believed those, when they even TRIED those. this is the perfect first-track to start the introduction to the whole shebang. i dont know if yall checked it - but theres an amazing fanmade soundtrack to WDW. Churg posted a link to it in one of his vids. if you havent checked it out then i highly recommend you do.
