I Platinum'd Watch Dogs Legion and I ALMOST QUIT

In todays platinum journey video, we get the platinum for Watch Dogs Legion. An overall enjoyable experience with large and interesting exploration, familiar combat and an overall great story, even with its terrible voice acting. Cleanup is a very long and tedious process however and trying to get a damn video game designer took me hours. A Platinum that I am however, very happy to have.
Forgot to mention in the video but for those of you that are interested. PSNProfiles rates this difficulty a 3/10 with completion taking around 40 hours

Legion is a really odd game. This sort of “non-permanent permadeath” model they created was honestly really intriguing. And I forced myself to play the whole game that way to give it a fair crack. I do think that I died less than I would have in a regular game because I took less risks, which is a good and bad thing. And there was definitely some emotion when you lose a really solid operative or an operative you really liked. But ultimately it’s all hollow. Sucks because there is a decent game buried behind all the generic voice lines of the operatives. I like Sabine, Dalton, and Bagley a lot. But I also don’t think the dystopian nature really works for Legion. It’s a very depressing world to explore in, a depressing story is one thing and I can love those kinds of stories. but to have the entire world that you play in in-story and out, really takes the fun out of things. London in my opinion also maybe wasn’t the best choice for this type of game. I really wish they had just made a safe Watch Dogs 3 or even taken risks in other areas and maybe the series would still be going.

​@@joeystarr1273if you didn't know, you actually need to change the setting in either display or gameplay (unsure which one and I'm too lazy to check) to balanced as the game is automatically put on to Ray tracing at 30fps. But when you change it to balanced, it'll go to 60 fps and still look pretty good. If you've already done that and it's still going on, I don't know what's up with your stuff but it's been pretty good for me.

The moment I turned the game on and saw her I said she was the bad guy. That's not even to mention the horrendous voice acting that appeared to have no direction whatsoever

Pro tip: at the begining of the game build a resistance inmediatly with all the voices and perks you want, there are videos out there that show all the voices in cutscenes, then just save it the cloud so if you were to replay the main story you start with a pre set team of good voices and skills

I loved this game. Sure, I understand the argument that by having more than one protagonist it ends up feeling like they're not really "The Protagonist", but at least I ended up creating my own stories and interactions between everyone in my group. I took group pictures with them, took multiple pictures at the same spot with everyone, said hi to them whenever I saw them out in the street, and immediately ran to help anyone whenever need be. I adored this game. Started off with Neil, and ended the game with him as well 😁 Even if the stories and whatnot are just randomized, there's some overlapping and some of the characters obviously end up looking the same*, I made up my own lore-reasons as to why that is as well. Either dopplegangers, or twins separated at birth! :3

Very good start, I will always defend Watch Dogs, very enjoyable games with an interesting story and good gameplay. Very ambitious move in Legion allowing EVERY npc to be playable. Played a lot of of all games, working on platinuming them, one of the most enjoyable series for me and has my all time favorite aesthetic in the games.

I did like aspects of legion but compared to 2 it felt restrictive to me cause all the character specialize in certain things but not everything. In 2 i could go from being stealth to just using drones in a mission.

Yeah, WD2 is still a masterpiece. As a person who has located every single collectible and hidden item in the game, I adore the work the devs did in the game. Amazing map, amazing puzzles, amazing multi-solutions to proceed! Everything was perfect, even the mini-games and the side-quests.

This video actually made me go for the platinum......I fuckin hated it but I'm stubborn. I finally got all the trophies (including dlc) on the 4th of July at 11:46 pm (yes I remember the exact time because I deleted the game off my hard drive the second I confirmed my platinum) Edit: The game wasn't too bad (though fuck those collectables) but my game would randomly pause to load in assets and textures for absolutely no reason. It also took forever for the game to let me do certain things because it didn't completely load the character's loadout

i have finished both watch dogs 1 and 2 multiple times. and i cant say the same for legion. The game has alot of minor bugs and the online service seems to be 50/50 if its online. Story seems to be weird-ish since there is no really main characters due to having a team system. Really early on the missions seems really repetive and even boring since you are essentially just driving across the map to do some hacking thing and then driving back. Game is also missing alot of features that you would expect from a 3rd person game like shoulder switching. Mostly bothering my enjoyment was things related to moving from point A to B. Alot of audio issues, possibly floating radio players above streets, cars honking for no reason, npc's dodging the vehicle when not even close to them. Also you have the generic ubisoft driving physics that dont really feel all that great. Sadly ubisoft has already ended the "support" for further updates january 2022.

I platinum'ed this game only because I have platinum'ed the other two before. The previous two games were awesome, especially WD 2. Watch Dogs Legion was a big, massive mistake, even from my point of view, being a fan of the franchise and having WD 2 as one of my top favourite games of all time! Legion was just bad. From the fact that the city design and map haven't been streamlined to be fun to play in like in the previous games and it now feels like an actual city with so many down-times and uninteresting locales, all the way down to the awful Voice-Acting with everyone sounding like a Pakistani instead of British and the massive downgrade in graphics and animations, in order for the NPC-to-Playable System to run. It takes so many resources away that more than 70% of the time the more complex animations don't play. Animations like dropping down from a ladder (instead of jumping or climbing down, you just run in the air air and glide towards the ground), getting hit by a car (which plays only if it is a massive hit with high speed), talking animations of NPCs that you recruit (I had an NPC next to me in a mission and instead of talking normally, she was talking through the radio AND she wasn't responsive while being next to me. I was hearing her voice in the radio but her mouth wasn't moving even though she was right next to me at that time) and many more... The restrictions on guns didn't help, either. It is way too restrictive even for me, a player who uses the drones, the RC car and the Tasers. TL;DR: The third game undid all the great things the previous two have done, except for the slstory which was somewhat interesting. WD1: 7.5/10. WD2: 9.5/10. WD3: 4/10.

One more thing... Bagley is the most annoying narrator/helping-hand character in any game, ever. I'd rather have Navi from Zelda OoT, than... THAT! Not only his voice is the most annoying, intentionally gay-fied voice ever, but "his" humour, except for 3-4 times, is absolute garbage!

I got the plat too, but I don’t know why you almost quit, maybe it was the way you did it, some trophies you save for last gave you some trouble. I got most of them just by doing the main campaign and side missions. At all Ubisoft games, this is very time consuming too for the plat, but not as much as their previous games. I really enjoyed the gameplay in this one, London was beautiful, I used only one character and imagined she was the leader of Deadsec and the main protagonist, besides the bad voice acting, they at least talk. The story it’s just another Watch Dogs game, another psycho wanting to blow up some shit. This game could’ve been so much better if they went with that story line that has an AI, that woman that killed her mother and her dog and transformed them into AI. That was the only main mission that got me into this game, gave me some immersion, it was like some black mirror episode, if that was the plot, some cyber psycho hacking people’s minds to make them their AI would’ve been so much cooler than just another bombing and crew drama, yey…

Some tips if you're just starting out; recruit the specialist operatives for their abilities, should help out a bit. Also, this isn't a generic shooter where you can just sit somewhere and kill all the enemies, at least most of the time. If you can't/don't like staying stealthy, it's best to take some guys down, parkour around the map to a new location setting off traps as you go, and fire again with recharged gadgets. Lastly, I'd recommend focusing early points on things like drone betray and hijack. The higher level drones are great when they work for you, both for combat and distraction. Hope this helps!

Funnily enough they do have a character you can get as part of the season pass or separately which lets you complete missions for a modern day assassin and you get to play as her after finishing her quest line which actually does make for a great assassins creed game in modern times

@@WatsonKHD yeah, you get missions from a descendant of the characters from AC syndicate, you're constantly taking out Templar targets and stealing Templar artifacts... But that's not what I mean. The game feels a lot more stealth focused (like the good AC games), it feels like they've taken a lot of functionality away from the phone, forcing you to think differently from the first 2 games and way more like the older AC games. I dunno, in general if they'd kept the game exactly as it is but changed the name to AC: Syndicate 2 I probably would have enjoyed it way more. I spent too much time thinking "if I wanted to play AC, I would have bought an AC game 🤷‍♂️

To me Watch Dogs series goes like this; Watch Dogs = good ideas, mediocre and flawed execution. Potential is great. Watch Dogs 2 = inconsistent tone, irritating as hell characters, utterly baffling levels of stupid and incompetent borderline incomprehensible story with no idea what it is doing, where it is going or what its trying to be. In other words; pointless filler that by the end accomplished nothing, Legion is proof of this. Seriously, jump from WD straight to WDL and tell me if anything of any importance is lost or missed. Watch Dogs Legion = strong opening, tone is consistent. But premise lacks credibility, screws up the rest and reveal of Zero day identity is icing on the contrived stupidity cake and STILL has no idea where any of this is going. In other words; i'm done, screw this series and its aimless, inability to commit to anything bollocks. Potential is squandered at this point. I'm out. .... DLC expansion Bloodlines = I actually liked this one, for the first time i actually felt like it was moving towards something and brings what was started in WD to an conclusion.
