We bought 2 of these on sale at $450 each. Great deal. They have been working great in our RV and saved a lot of room and weight.

Thank you for this thorough pressure test. We ordered on last week based on another well-known KZbinr who specializes in solar and battery reviews/instruction and we are awaiting its arrival. It will be replacing our 200Ah Weize battery (that happens to be HUGE, so the size of the WattCycle is a big plus). Very nicely done!

First time seeing this. Very cool. In ten years that same 300 ah capacity might be had in a coin cell (watch) sized battery. They just keep getting smaller and lighter. Thanks for taking the time to do the video. Cheers!

The problem with getting smaller and smaller is you get the same issues as gasoline. Higher and higher volatility and eventually with enough density you have a bomb. They'll get incrementally smaller with chemistry and also with the circuit board and packing, but it's not going too much smaller.
@iLoveRVlife20 күн бұрын
Interesting point on size and concerns. I must admit, I had similar concerns. One of the reasons I ran the battery beyond it’s rated 200A BMS rating was to see how it would perform and would heat be an issues. As mentioned in the video, this was for testing only, but it was very stable and heat wasn’t an issue. Also, proper fuse and wire size is key to protecting the battery and connected components that can also minimize heat and wasted amps. Lastly is the certifications. This battery has SDS / UN38.3 / FCC / CE / ROHS / UL. There is a bit of a trust factor as to how these were obtained and the process required to certify the batteries. Last comment I’ll share is what I believe to be a fear factor related to LifePO4 batteries. As with any thing dealing with high amperage, proper installation and industry accepted practices must be followed. If these types of batteries were failing and causing fires, then it would be continuously reported. I’m just not seeing it and in my travels haven’t met anyone who has seen it either.
@Tb0n320 күн бұрын
@@iLoveRVlife Oh, no. LiFePO4 chemistry is great since it doesn't feed a fire with the catalyst. I was more commenting on the possibility of a 100AH watch cell being nothing but a risk to life. I actually ordered two of these batteries and I'm deciding whether I want to convert to 24 or stay on 12 volt. You really save a lot of money on conductors if you go to 24.

Now if they could only get these to run an AC for 8-10hrs. along with the rest. Definitely going in the right direction! I think they're going to have to work on the AC side some more.
@iLoveRVlife17 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, most RV ACs are huge power hogs. Some very interesting progress is being made with 12V DC ACs. We’re seeing the transition with RV refrigerators, hoping DC powered RVs ACs will become affordable soon.

Im just learning now about Solar install for my rv, so thank you. I thought the 300ah mini charge voltage is sapose to be 14.6v, which is much higher than other lithium batteries for some reason, & i noticed when you were setting up the victron battery parameters, it was 14.4? Just wondering if I'm missing something? Thank you again for such a thorough review & the real world testing!

Thanks for watching. Some batteries are listed at 14.4, others 14.6. Since I test so many batteries, I leave my solar controller at 14.4 and haven’t had any issues.

I will post back on here what the outcome is

I couldn't tell where you were reading the voltage from with your meter. It should have been at the inverter terminals, to be valid, but you didn't specify and it was out of frame each time. If you DID take the measurements from the battery terminals, that would explain the discrepancy in the two voltages. To my eye, your cables look a little undersized (2/0 is recommended for 200 amps) and, if I'm right, then they could be introducing a voltage drop at the inverter and that is the voltage that the inverter is reporting. If those are cables that came with the inverter, they may not even be pure copper. some inverters come with copper plated aluminum wires. I did see that the third time you tested the voltage it was at the battery and that isn't really the correct place if your testing the accuracy of your inverter's volt meter. This was a great evaluation of the real world capacity of the battery, but I wish you had maybe done a couple of cycles of heating a large bowl of water in the microwave, to simulate some meal prep, assuming you have and use a microwave, and running an electric coffee maker a couple of times to simulate a couple of morning's usage, again if you have and do use a coffee maker. If you have an induction cook plate, that would be interesting to use, maybe to simulate getting by without gas flames that would generate heat if you were boondocked and had no AC.Those appliances can sometimes put even more of a load on your battery than the slide motor did. Did you avoid the fans simply because the noise would make the audio difficult, because I would think that they would be essential if you were boondocked in the summer? Again, a great video and thanks for making and sharing your content. I may be late to the table, but I plan to check out the current price for this battery,

What are the compromises with the mini vs a full size battery?
@iLoveRVlife26 күн бұрын
That’s a great question and I had too. None that I could find. The cells and BMS worked as well as a larger battery of the same amps and features. For this price point, it has a high impact plastic case, low temp disconnect, no Bluetooth, just a solid performing LifePO4 battery.
@WayneMay26 күн бұрын
@iLoveRVlife I guess Bluetooth is a nice to have, but not needed, especially if you have a shunt. I suppose with 2 of these (like I am looking to get) if it had BT, I could check the health of them individually. Hmmm.
