​@@vasyasharko3224 remove the slab that Is at the same height as the carpet, if you have a block or a lower half slab above the carpet it doesn't count as a full block because of the carpet and the small mobs can't get though as they require a full block of space

Fun fact: You can replace the platform with netherite blocks to triple the loot and double the spawnrate. It also makes it so all zombified piglins give gold ingots every time

For anyone asking, yes it still works in 1.21 If pigmen dosen't spawn make sure you are in the "Nether wastes" biome. If pigmen DO spawn but don't aggro the turtle egg, check if your mobGriefing gamerule is set to TRUE and that you broke the placeholder blocks beneath the eggs (Wattles said all that in the video if you took the time to listen btw) Great tutorial.

What do you need a with skeleton farm for? With looting 3 and a fortress you can easily get 3 skulls for your beacon and there’s no real use for skulls unless you want more beacons. To get all the effects you need like 5 beacons so I’m just curious how it’s useful

The problem is to make a wither farm is you need wither roses which only spawn from withers so if you need skulls you still first have to get 3 to even start making any type of farm.

Also a pretty useful tip: get swift sneak before you do this, its going to save a lot of time. Also go in settings -> options -> controls and turn sneak from hold to toggle, probably will save your pinky from breaking. Also bring some spare blocks you do NOT want to go all the way down to the bottom just to pick up a single magma block

Works like a charm. I slightly modified it by adding a larger platform for them to land on, and also reduced the size of the 2nd and 3rd layers by 1/4 each. Added an autosorter that auto-smelts the swords for more nuggets. Love your tutorials.

If you like AFK farming, you can place powder snow onto the hoppers then just wait. They die slower but you don't have to move a finger for that (however no enchantment on snow) but you can get your pocket full of gold without doing anything.

Of course it is faster to use a sword instead of snow, but if you have the time to afk (or don't have the time to play, depends on how you view it), then you can try this.

This might be a little extra but you could also get a chicken up there and have him trapped on a hopper pointed into a chest. The chicken will lay eggs and give you an easy throwable to aggro the pigmen.

May i add that i TOTALLY built this farm in my single player world!?!? I love it!! Thank you wattles!!! So much easier than the others I’ve seen. I added multiple layers of glass to the work area. I added hoppers to bring the items down to different levels to process the swords through blast furnaces. And to make gold blocks to put into shulkers in an ender chest. I leave several in the kill box. Go down a level or two. They de-agro. I go back up, smack one in the face, and BAM right back to it. I stand there usually until i hit level 100 then go back to my base. It’s my new jam.

I like how some farms are easier to build depending on which edition of the game you play. If I played java regularly I most likely would never build a gold farm or guardian farm but would go crazy with an iron farm or raid farm.

Depends on how many platforms you make, the lowest one they might survive, but anything higher then that and they probably wont. and you want them to survive because they wont drop gold if you dont kill them by hand.

for the guardian farm, you just have to find one that doesn't drain the ocean. A little slower, but still great for single player or a small server

To help those wandering why magma blocks are used here, it's because very few mobs can spawn on those blocks: magma cubes, zombified piglin, ghasts, and squid. Squid won't spawn in the Nether, ghasts are denied spawning by setting up a roof above a 2-block space, and the magma cubes only spawn if there's enough place for a large one, which there isn't. That's how this farm spawn zombified piglins exclusively.

no, they only drop gold if killed by the player or angry at the player when killed, and I doubt they'll reliably aggro before landing. You usually download an autoclicker to automate these, but you could build another pit with hoppers between where they fall and where you are.

If you build it over a lava ocean most of the work is done and you only need to build the farm. Just watch out for the lava as usual lol.

Um for 1.20 i have a few farm suggestions one is an automated crop farm for wheat potatoes carrots and even beetroot too another one would be an updated villager breeder farm tutorial as well i saw I would also like to see a blaze spawner farm tutorial as well as a wither skeleton farm um another farm too would be an enderman farm!

Quick side note, mobs can spawn on scaffolding, so be careful when climbing back down because zombified piglins could spawn inside your scaffolding tower, and if they are still aggrevated they could attack and knock you off the tower. My advice would be to use ladders instead, or build your nether portal next to your glass platform (remember to spawn-proof the protal with slabs on top), or simply elytra up to the glass platform.

Recently built this in 1.20.4, make sure to remove the blocks the eggs are sitting on, I didn't and wasn't getting much, after taking them out the piglins were swarming in!

if you add two more on the right and left of it with the same 14 block path off of the hoppers (add 3 extra hoppers per side) youll get about 1 stack of gold blocks per 13-14 minutes

i also figured out a way to make it afk with an auto loot sorter too that gets rid of unwanted items (rotten flesh and swords)

the pigman in the boat keeps despawning, if i put him in a boat, a nametag and a box, no matter what hes despawning. im also playing on a server if that changes anything and it happens pretty randomly like sometimes if i go far away or die and come back hes gone

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I really needed this to get a beacon quickly in a hardcore Zombie Apocalypse modpack with both Hordes and Fungal Infection: Spore as the two threats to the world. My only problems are that baby Zombie Pigmen can be a little tricky to get rid of and that some of my hoppers are not picking up the drops and putting them into the chest. This causes some lag, and I miss out on some Gold, Rotten Meat (which is useful for trading), and occasional Backpack (Sophisticated Backpacks mod is in this modpack.)

yes, but at some point you will be limited by the mob cap, so the more layers you add, the less and less useful each layer will be

Wattles, Have you tested the rates when you make the spawning platform 3-5 blocks further out? it should provide a nice boost in rates for the farm do to spawning mechanics?
