@theultimatesillygoose56682 жыл бұрын
it really is a bad depiction tho. because their relationship is glorified, romanticized, appreciated by the books/movies. they have their happy ending, there is not a single moment where anything is actually discussed and addressed by the author, the after saga IS presented as a love story by literally any commercial about the books/movies, etc. 🙁

The one thing I can appreciate about the movies is that they toned down Hardin's character/personality. I heard he was a lot worse in the books. Still, the way he treats Tessa and the others around him in the movies is also inexcusable, and I don't know how the f Tessa doesn't see those red flags and ditch his ass.

@@lavenderhazel5125 Which makes me upset with the infertile plot because infertile people can't have kids that easily and back to back like she did in the books. They had a great storyline right there if they play into Tessa being infertile, so she wants to adopt while Hardin, in typical manchild style, doesn't understand how female reproductive system work and getting angry about how an adopted kid "isn't the same." This could lead to Tessa leading a childless life, by herself, and being ok with it since she's not trapped to Hardin, and Hardin just fuqing off somewhere. Just uuuuugh!

The fact that I didn't even know this movie existed until I noticed a few youtubers doing a commentary on it says a lot. Sure, non-fans like me aren't going to keep up w/the releases, but when the first two movies came out absolutely no one could escape it, especially here and on twitter. But this time around... simply crickets.

the most unrealistic part of this franchise is that a british person actually chose to go to university in America and pay those international student fees
@rhiwright2 жыл бұрын
I take issue with a film partially set in London, staring actors playing British characters using the word "freshman". That's an Americanism. We say "first year" over here, and use "college" exclusively to refer to Further Education Colleges... where people do vocational qualifications from and an alternative venue to the optional last 2 years of high school. It's a lower level of education than uni (which is Higher Education). I went to college *and then* I went to uni. She's not a freshmen in a college, she's a first year student in a university. To me the word "college" implies that someone is probably about 16 and doesn't have the qualifications to go to uni. Or doesn't want to go to uni at all.

these movies are just all over the place which is why i didn’t continue after the first one. the only way they seem to move the plot forward is by making them fight or have some conflict that adds nothing to the story. the actors do great with what they’re given, it’s the writing that’s the issue 🥴
