I’ve been discouraging myself from trying to get my writing published because I didn’t think I was good enough, but then I read excerpts from colleen’s books where she’s writing sentences like they’re abstract poetry and repeating words and names three times in a row for emphasis over and over and I’m like “…fuck it, I’ll send this shit out, actually.”

I wonder if part of it is that back in the day older person online were outliers - like in the year 2000, adults (like age 30s-40s) were far less represented online, and the ones that were present in online social spaces tended to be outliers - many of whom were weird. This may have lead to millennials having this idea that being an “old person” online made you weird and they don’t know how to manage that with their current identity.

Sorry, I disagree. The less stereotypical feminine character who feels anger for more feminine girls is a thing because there used to be a time when some of these hyper feminine girls used to bully the "not like the other girl" because they thought their femininity made them superior. I know it because I experienced it. They will go out of their way to force "things girls are supposed to do/be" down your throat and makes you feel like you are nothing if you don't conform. (boys tried to do the same thing, by the way, I'm not targeting a gender here) So it doesn't encourage the "nlog" to be open minded or kind to them because these feminine girls weren't open minded about her. Besides what I hate about these videos that are supposed to correct the "nlog" behaviour is that you guys fail to understand there is more complexity at play. For example, the first post you showed, the girl who wrote it do generalize women as all liking the same thing, I agree, and this is wrong. But you'll notice she also said "why aren't there any girl like me?" which indicate she would actually gladly befriend a girl as long as they have the same interests. If she still wants a female friend, that means she see this potential friend as an equal. So the argument "she thinks she's superior to other girls" doesn't stand anymore...it's more of an assumption. Besides, I'm writing from the year 2025 and I assure you non-feminine women are more and more hated and society is now idolizing femininity in women to an extreme that is almost regressive (example : people now think that any woman who do things that happen to be in the "masculine" box is displaying "toxic masculinity", "trying to be a man", people force femininity down her throat to "cure her internalized misogyny" and the general opinion is trying to erase them from media to replace her with women that display traditional "femininity"... cause apparently it's impossible for modern society to think they BOTH deserve to be validated in their choices and to exist in peace...). So... here we go, the bullies are back at it again... For the love of God, if you guys want women to get along, stop putting them into overly simplified boxes like "not like the other girls" or "basic" or whatever and recognize that there is COMPLEXITY in a woman's psyche.

Splendid video, Casey! ^_^ 💜 *Re "Are you lost, Baby-girl?":* It angers me when a woman (or man) is called "Baby", because a literal baby is a tiny, helpless human, totally dependent on the care of adults. So, calling a woman (or man) "Baby" is implicitly belittling, patronising, and disrespectful. Also, the person calling an adult "Baby" is (consciously or not) trying to assert their power and dominance, while undermining the self-confidence and independence of the adult, that they are mislabelling "Baby". Even when the person, calling an adult "Baby", is not consciously aware of the mind-game they are playing, it will still negatively impact the dynamic between the two people. It also angers me when a woman is referred to as a "girl" because, again, this is a denial of the woman's adult status. We never call men "boys" (unless we are implying that they are childish, immature, etc.), so why is it acceptable, to so many people, to call women "girls"? Male chauvinistic double standards, that's why. Consequently, it is perfect that Massimo (a narcissistic, power-tripping, boundary breaking, kidnapper) calls Laura "Baby-girl". Two condescending, controlling insults in one!! Am I taking this high budget soft prawn movie too seriously? No, I admire and applaud it, in all of its appalling glory! Although I could write a whole book about why the entire 365 Days trilogy is terrible toxic trash, I also find it hilarious. This comment is just my rant about why I think "Baby-girl" is _not_ an affectionate term of endearment but is actually a covertly manipulative put-down. Peas & love from the UK ^_^

When I got back into reading again after years, I read this as the second book getting back in. It’s the only Colleen book I have ever, or plan on ever reading. I remember really like it but it’s been a hot minute lol so if I’ll give her anything at all it’s getting me back into reading. But that was enough of her for me lol

Thank you for making this video. I'm really concerned with all the "I just discovered that I'm autistic" videos. Not only do they cheapen the real world problems that truly autistic people have to deal with but they make a fad of self diagnosis and cheapen the science of medical evaluations. I think it's fair to say that most autistic people couldn't begin to make a video, yet alone communicate in a reciprocal fashion with comments, avoid monotone reading, be able to fake gestures and voice inflections, etc. But it is a spectrum and if we just want to scratch the surface, then maybe everyone is at least on the border of the"spectrum."

I am autistic and I agree that Faking autism or ADHD It's bad, but I don't agree with comparing it to depression or anxiety disorders or the victim narrative. Autism and ADHD are disabilities. People who experience them have to live with them because there is no other way. Focusing only on the fact that you have autism or ADHD is not good for you.
