in my honest opinion, the time fault and the wave motion fleet are the sole reason as to why Humanity survived war with Gatlantis and Garmilas (there was no diplomatic option possible, as both were wars of extermination). one may say "But yamato with teresa's help were what destroyed the AoD" and to that i say that, the only reason as to why yamato could even REACH earth in the first place is because the Wave Motion Fleet stood tall against Gatlantis at enceladus and saturn

If Iskandar didn't exist, or better yet "took a different path"... the war and thus the temporal fault would have never existed. As such not only the Galantians would have stayed away... maybe they wouldn't exist either, depending on the Ark's people and Terese. "What if" is a fallacy... the only true thing is how bad written 2202 was, horrible plot and the characters were treated quite poorly. At this point, despite the high revere the Gamilas holds for Iskander, the latter has long since forsaken its conquest ways by the time this war started (Having been outright abandoned when Starsha took over) , and outright cannot even enforce its former relation to making the former its proxy because everyone was dead and the remaining people were manifestations of the planet’s memories. Also, there’s no guarantee that just because Iskandar didn’t exist, or does exist but not having had any bloody campaigns or that many for that manner, would have resulted in Gatlantis ignoring Earth, since all this ended up being created from Zwordar/Zworder’s failed campaign against the Zemurians and him coming to determine human emotion was the root of suffering. It may delay their arrival, but they certainly are not going to avoid it when some combat superhuman human with bomb-laden dna gets driven mad from witnessing his own wife and child die and is controlling a death machine the size of Saturn. And if it’s not Earth, then it will be the pacifist Iskandarian people, and the many past and future civilizations that the Gatlantians had and will destroy out of the sheer spite he now bears against them for being “human”.

Well while wave motion technology is useful in space travel it is very useful for self defense. If you have an enemy that has far more power then you (in term of manpower and ships) and if you demostrate capability of wave motion gun by obliterating entire enemy fleets or battlegroups i would call that defense. You demostrate that you have technology that allows you to decimate any fleets with one shot, forcing enemy if he is smart enough to stay away from you. Why was queen of Iscandar so unconfortable for humans to use this technology despite they send it (for FTL purpose) because they use it but they use it to conquer others.

I think she was fearful because much like a parallel and mirror we see in Deslar it can be a weapon used by those who just want to conquer. In a way humanity being able to develop it in such a speed of a year of getting the theoretical data while it took Deslar and Gamilas decades to centuries is the scary part.

Same (???) technology was used by the so called "Ancients" (Alterans) in the Stargate universe... The ZPM everybody looked for and what powered not only the city but the ships is the same... It powered weapons, shields... and when overloaded "powered entire planetary systems"

I get that the Wave Motion Fleet was breaking the agreement with Iscandar, but... The Gatlanteans and their insane glow-up with millions of Calaklums kinda throws all that out the window. I'm not hearing any reason to disarm when the only reason humanity isn't dead (again) is the countless wave motion guns we made. If they wanted to say that crazy levels of militarization is bad, that's perfectly fine - but don't immediately throw us against an invading force that breaks through our massive fleets to exterminate us. Because the only message I'm getting from that is "We didn't militarize *enough*"

Actually, coming back to this, to make the "theme" make sense, the EF should have swept Gatlantis like so much trash. General plot ideas: axe the ark of destruction, that shit made no sense. Remove the "Gatlanteans are supposed to feel no emotions" shit, replace it with the mongols-in-space that we see in the celestial ark movie. Cut out the "Desler wants to find a perfect planet" since Gamillons can either A) xenoform a planet like they did in 2199 to Earth or B) just live on a normal planet since they live on normal Earth just fine. Here comes the rewrite: The Enceladus Garrison Fleet encounters the first Gatlantean attack and... they kill them all with no casualties. Migobueza anti-beam armor laminate and wave motion shields mean that human ships are effectively invulnerable, the shock cannons destroy every ship with a single blast, and then the two dreadnoughts mop up the last forces with the dispersion WMGs. Earth Federation goes axe-crazy, wants to kill the (new) aliens that tried to kill them all. Wave Motion Fleet basically sweeps across the galaxy annihilating any and all enemy ships. The new Calaklum ships were built to fight against Gamillas so they're not instantly destroyed by a shock cannon, but they're big and expensive and there isn't much a single battleship can do against a 100+ warship fleet. The Medalusa battleships are doing some hit-and-run long-range sniping, but at most can take out some escorts. At some point the Gatlanteans aren't even trying to fight anymore and are just retreating everywhere. Some / a lot of humans start saying "Okay this shit is too far, they're clearly not a threat anymore, we're no better than Gamillas if we continue." Earth Fed higher ups don't care, switch to the BBB-variant Andromeda. Smaller number under their command since a lot resigned out of protest (or were just removed), but a lot more ships since now one battleship only needs one person. Apocalix carriers don't happen (they were stupid anyway), but those suicide ships (that somehow break wave motion shields) do. They're also mostly automated and piloted by a single captain - to mirror the BBB. Kodai and the Yamato crew, plus whoever else you want to add, have to stop the xenocide before it happens. Boom - militarism bad, WMDs bad, /and/ it doesn't break your brain.

Wavemotion technology is overpowered however it also forces you to go in hard and fast and get out of there since the wave motion shield can only stay active for 20 minutes making it not that good for battles of attrition

Well you cant be attacked from any Direction if you removed said Direction. All Jokes aside the Wave Motion Gun is 2 Sided Sword on one hand you had a weapon that made anyone think twice about fucking with Earth and the Transit Wave motion gun is even stronger (allthough only used once and not that easy to replicate) . But if one of your ship gets captured and the enemy gets acces to your Technology you are looking at up to Trillions of Deaths causing also an extreme amount of Security needs, honestly even the 3Ship fleet as seen in 2205 may be to small incase of an coordinated attack with intend to capture a ship.

I think a good idea would be having the wave motion fleet stay in the solar system, while *usually* only deploying non-wave motion gunned ships outside it(they can also be completely different from the wave motion ships). Now if we assume that as long as the wave motion gun doesn't leave the solar system there will be no info leaks from our faction to enemy factions and it will be safe from being physically stolen we get the following: First, we limit the spread of information of the whole existance(or at least the full extend) of the wave motion gun by not deploying ships outside of the solar system. This will also depend on how close we allow allied or neutural factions to get to the Solar system or Earth. Second, by downplaying our military might, we create a false image to the rest of the factions and when an enemy decides to fuck around and find out we anhiliate them, making an example to everyone not to fuck with us. It would be further beneficial to allow as few details about the battle and the weapon as possible to leave our teritory. If our adversaries know we have *the power* but not what *the power* is, they wouldn't be able to create counter measures against it.
