Overland Travellers

Күн бұрын

Hello again everyone,
This week we take you out to Wave Rock & Kalgoorlie. When most people do the lap of Australia these places are sometimes missed because if you come from the east you either turn left to Esperance or Right towards Kalgoorlie & wave rock.
We had the time to make a trip out to both of these places and we were pleasantly surprised with what we saw. We would also highly recommend both of these places to people travelling in the area. The only thing we wished we did different was spend more time out here.
If you are interested in supporting us you can either do so by buying some of our merchandise or signing up to Patreon - both links are below

Thanks for watching & we will see you next week
Cheers,
Matt & Holly

Great video guys! Wish I had made it out there to see the rock and the pit. Oh and a personalized plate in WA is about $600 - at least that is what my dad had paid.

WA is gorgeous - Perth is one of the most relaxing places I've ever had the pleasure to live in. I've always got a soft spot for Darwin, but Perth is just lovely and you've got so many lovely places for weekends. Wave rock, the Pinnacles, Rotto, Jurien Bay. It's paradise.

With the personalised number plates in WA they dont have to pay an annual fee for them. A fully personalised plate is around 300 dollars. Then the plate is yours for life. I suppose that's why they are more popular than other parts of australia.
@OverlandTravellers

We thought that might have been the case, we were looking at getting one for our troopy but in NSW you need to pay an annual fee which is above $250

The 15000 people would have lived where the broadarrow pit is now, interesting to see where I live featured on an OLT video.

The personalised plates have gone up a bit here now, they start at about $550, but no annual fees. In the N.T. they are apparently only about $200 with no annual fees, and almost every second car has them! As for the "town" of broady, that was of the era when building materials were bloody expensive. When they moved, they would salvage the materials and take them too, anything left was pillaged. There are plenty of ghost towns around the goldfields, and nothing much left of most of them. I suppose a true sign of how tough those times were. Some wonderful history throughout the area though 👍

Whats that ugly wall on the rock? Detracts form the natural beauty. They could at least make it look like rock.
