Looking forward to this journey. Agreed sound needs sorting.

darren G thank you for watching. Please let me know how the sound is on my recent edits. I put one out each week and am in real time. At first I did not know I could turn up the volume of the voices on my editing! Now I do that and try and take out as much wind noise as possible. Please let me know. Thanks!

Dolphin are a joy to see. Sailing a cat in French waters, we spotted breaching dolphin on both sides about 20 metres off. It turns out these were "lookouts" for around 10 others taking turns racing and pirouetting between the hulls. Laying in the net I could almost touch them! I could certainly hear their excited squeals and seeing their electric blue under bellies as they twirled in harmony majestic. I hope you have their company often, experience never forgotten. Loving your senior sense of adventure, and as a professional cameraman (sport) I'm enjoying your learning process and progress behind the camera Liane. As a pastime for long crossings, you've chosen well, and it's great to be along for the ride. A simple clamp (with safety bond) would allow camera positions on every grab rail, without risk, and would maximise shots of you both performing your duties aboard. Safe crossing.

Can I ask what editing program you have chosen? As a pointer for any of your viewers who may be new to sailing, I think this is perhaps the best sailing instructional out there. Enjoy. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqCVgaedpq5ricU

Thank you. I am using Filmora editing. It craps out on me a lot so I am looking for a different one to buy. Do you have any suggestions for me. I just found Filmora was easier for me to learn on as I am new to this. Sorry for the late reply. We do not have internet very often.

I believe it was the Wynns that had the same problem (low to blasting sound) with their camera's mic....they had to purchase a separate plug-in mic. The picture is fine but I gave up trying to understand what was being said. I really like your vessel....it has enough displacement to be more comfortable in rough seas than most other cat sailboats of the same length.

Ed Rosenberger hi. I do have a plug in much and cat tail muff thing. One thing at this point is I did not know all about how to edit. Each video and feedback has helped me. I now know how to reduce background noise and turn up the sound volume when I edit. Ha Ha. Learning with each video. I am up to #20 now. I still learn new things with each edit. Thanks for the feedback.

Waveriderslife: Sorry.....this came up in the YT feed and I didn't look at the date. I checked #20 and it is better. I also checked some other comments here and discovered that you take criticism better than anyone I've ever seen! Good on you.....

Loved catching up with you guys! I am really glad to see the safety lines are up; I was wondering what the yellow rope was right before you told us. Have a safe crossing and looking forward to your next video!

I believe i have. Have you watched my latest videos? I am new to editing and had no idea I could turn the sound up on each shot!! Funny. Keep giving feedback because it helps me. I am still learning something new with each video.

Hope you can sort out your sound issues. Suggest you look into adding a shotgun external microphone with a "dead cat" wind screen cover for your Sony video camera
@Waveriderslife7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I think i adjusted the volume too low when I edited this one. I did not want to be blasting people with my voice. I do have one of those Dead cat covers on the mic. For some reason it does not work well. Any ideas why that would be. The cover is new.

Enjoyed your videos but please work on the audio portion.

Thank you. Not sure what others hear. The sound sounds fine on my laptop, so I am not sure what to do. I will try turning the volume on max I guess. I do have a ' dead cat" and external mic already. Any other ideas for the sound?

Try borrowing a neighbor's laptop, going to KZbin and check out that experience. As if you were Me, and just now found this channel. Which I literally just have. : ) The sound sucks, But the content is awesome and the potential unfathomable?

Listen to the sound levels on your video between 14:15 - 14:35. It's loud music, then almost inaudible speech with weird camera noises, then clearly audible speech... This constant up and down of the audio makes watching your videos difficult. I've read a few comments and recall you saying that the audio sounds fine on your laptop. Try listening with headphones. That will allow you to hear the differences in sound much better so hopefully you can fix it before publication. I know you're new to editing and I commend your effort! Stick with it, listen to the constructive criticism, and you'll get it sorted out before you know it. Good luck you two!

Hi. We bought it off a German fellow in Punat, Croatia. It is a 2 year old boat. He only used the mainsail 2 times when he owned it!! It was a very lightly used boat. we lucked out! It was also barebones. We had to ad a lot so it became blue water saling and self sufficient.

Thanks for the info. Now I understand what you are doing to it a little better.

Undersized windlass for that big of boat and anchor. Nice boat but too much shit to break. Coastal cruise but don't take it trans ocean. Get caught in 30 to 40 know winds and need to reef. You're toast. They have escape hatches in both hulls for a reason. I don't trust these cats.

This boat has handled 30-40 knot winds continuously since we left Croatia. Crossing the Med was an experience! We had 20 foot waves almost daily and 30-40 knot winds. I was terrified! The boat handled so well. It just stepped up and down the waves without problem. Now I trust the boat and am more relaxed in those conditions.. Crossing the Atlantic will be a piece of cake after the Med.!! We are leaving to cross December 14 or 15th. In Las Palmas now.

Hi Waveriderlife. I can only imagine jim jones is a Clown. Have a look at Cat Impi crossing oceans in a 440 Lagoon. Brent and Ana are currently in Australia sailing east coast in High Wind Warnings. Lagoons appear to be as strong as anything else out on the ocean. jim jones needs to stick to his Rubber Ducky and Hand Sponges in his bath it seems and wave movement scares him too much. Sail on Canada. David. Down Under.

Thank you. Only the second video I did. Like everything else in life it takes time to learn new things. No one is perfect the first time...or second. Sailing is also new to me. I am making my husbands lifelong dream be a reality .
