Agreed! It's cheap, even when it's not on sale! Much, much better than Smooth Operator and even more expensive competitors. Well-said, my friend!

Great review. Trackspacer was a true revelation for serious producers. This is a terrific and useful beginners tool. I do love that GUI too. Perhaps it might need more features but I love this company.

Thanks! I think you nailed it. Definitely a great beginner tool, but I think it has greater dividends for those with more experience too. That being said, I do find myself still using Trackspacer and the more familiar tools for these mixing issues. Thanks for watching!

Great video, I love this plugin. Your review was spot on. Their Trackspacer plugin is one of the best plugins that has ever been created and I'm starting to feel the same about this one. It just instantly balances and makes almost anything better.

Smart EQ is a bit different, but the killer app with that is the group-processing; so easy to make space in your mix with that!

Sounds like a better Gullfoss tbh, but Idrk about soothe, as others already said. Seems promising, although I'd like to have this but with an approach more alike the Sonible smart stuff of even the Izotope Neutron stuff.
@palebluedotstudios

I see. Like, where it scans your input and adjusts to a target?
@maxlambiel
@maxlambiel Жыл бұрын
Yeah! I would go as far as to allow it to train your own targets much like the Izotope stuff. In the end you can always agree or disagree with the result to various degrees, and with this controls that judgment call would be as deep as it can get.
@palebluedotstudios
@palebluedotstudios Жыл бұрын
@@maxlambiel @maxlambiel I like the idea of being able to train your own targets. I guess ultimately this is more like soothe and Gullfloss, where it's up to us to decide on processing.

It's a great choice! Again: if you are choosing between this and smart EQ upgrade, I'd go for smart EQ, because it's so powerful, and only $40 right now. But Equalizer is great for the price.

Soothe and this one does different things, for different purposes
@palebluedotstudios
@palebluedotstudios Жыл бұрын
I think there are some similarities. They both attempt to automatically balance a signal, but soothe operates more in the spectral domain, with some very complex background operations; but they both dynamically respond to the signal. Definitely some differences. An interesting comparison for sure. Thanks for watching.

@@palebluedotstudios I've noticed across several videos showcasing different plugins and tips and such that it has gotten worse. KZbin seems to be normalizing and compressing in a way that is not conducive to music creators. Simultaneously reducing payouts and increasing KZbin premium subscription costs. I don't know why or for what purpose, but 🤔 it seems to be a detriment for the time being. It's unclear if odysee, bitchute, rumble, etc are viable alternatives, but at the very least it seems prudent to mirror all content there. The ever increasing bit reduction of streaming media is crushing.

Pardon me: what is a "restless" artefact? I definitely heard artefacts, or pumping, at higher settings.
@ES60Hz
@ES60Hz Жыл бұрын
@@palebluedotstudios You can call it pumping for your understanding, but it sounds worse than pumping because it happens in 32 bands, so I call it restless, I can hear it even when the main knob is on 30 and attack and release are on minimum - if you want to hear it, just a-b test between this and a standard EQ
@palebluedotstudios
@palebluedotstudios Жыл бұрын
@@ES60Hz Ah, OK: that is definitely what I meant by "pumping", or unnatural jumps in gain. Yes, you have to be light with this unless you want restless EQ!

Paradoxically, for me the best additive EQ plugin is also from WavesFactory, and that is Spectre. So I will see what Equalizer proposes, and do it myself, with Spectre.
@palebluedotstudios
@palebluedotstudios Жыл бұрын
@@JuanJacinto Thanks for reminding me of Spectre! Yes, that's a great plugin. More of an exciter than a dynamic EQ, but would probably be safer for boosting as you'd be adding harmonic content to the signal. Let me know what you find! Cheers!

This thumbnail title is stupid. Soothe's goal 8s to suppress resonant frequencies, Equalizers goals is to balance the power of the frequency spectrum. Don't review tools you do not understand.
@palebluedotstudios
@palebluedotstudios Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments, very valid points. I would counter with the notion that all of these plugins are attempting to attenuate frequencies to a desired goal, and both plugins allow you to emphasize and de-emphasize frequencies, with an eye to achieving a balanced signal. If you give both these plugins resonant signals, they'll both act on it, but with perhaps different methods and philosophies. Thanks for watching!
