One of my childhood malls...I remember a huge, beautiful carousel that had been there for years, to me, it was practically a landmark and they replaced it with some interactive thing a few years ago. Saddened me--it was a gorgeous old-fashioned carousel that I had so many good memories of!

@VictoriaGrace I've also had great memories from lynnhaven mall but lately they've remodeled it and it's not the same, but I heard the carousel is somewhere in AZ in a storage space.

@@Beachboy757 Thanks for the info on that! It was really beautiful and it was very sad when they took it away. At least it's somewhere in storage.

I knew I wasn’t crazy; there used to be a big fountain and lots of trees. It looked so much better then.

My husband was in the military, station here in 1986 . Blue laws ,you couldn't shop at a department store on Sundays. But you can buy things like a pet,auto stores. Oceanfront junk. Restaurants, Gas Stations and Groceries stories. Not going back here. Retired in 2005 in Florida .🤗🏄♂️🏖⛵☀️🎋🍻♥️

Allinadayswork _82 lol the kids in this video aren’t 0 years old. most of them seem like they’re 6-10 years old. 40 years + 10 years = 50 years old.

Allinadayswork _82 also if they were 30 years old today, that means the kids in this video would be -10 years old 😂

This is so awesome for me! I worked for the mall pre-opening and a year or so after. I was a janitor in the food court. I was a teenager asking all the girls that worked there for food 😂 They all knew my scam 😂 Funny thing my soon to be ex was working at Sbarro's and I was always hitting on the girls there. I do remember seeing my ex 😂

So has the mall stayed open until 2023? If so would you please give us an update?
@hunter_craig11 ай бұрын
it’s still open and doing better than pretty much all other malls in the area as far as leases and how full the mall has stayed consistently. they did a remodel maybe 8 years ago that took away the middle food court on the second floor. it’s open to the skylights in the middle but lacks the open feeling of walking around on the second floor balcony into the central area in my opinion. not to mention the memories. they also built a large two story open parking structure on the northeast part of the mall that would later be partially torn down with half of it still being utilized today. glad that my old childhood mall is still maintaining though!

No wonder people don’t go to malls anymore. They used to look so beautiful and now they look so ugly with post, modern architecture and design. They are not inviting fun places to be anymore. Why don’t designers understand that?
