It worked!!!! I bought everything you used. I applied just as you did, used my shark diffuser, just hovered, scrunched out the crunch at the end and viola! No frizz, and my curls are soft and touchable. I have always avoided doing my hair curly because everytime I would touch my hair after applying products it would feel sticky, or just not right and now they feel amazing. Thank you so much!!!! Now if I could just find a proper way to refresh my hair for the next day lol.

1:23 i think it still matters cause last time I accidentally bought a mousse for type 4 hair (my hair is type 2) ans it really weighted down my waves and made my hair flat so just be careful !

I see what your saying but what most likely happens is that you bought a high porosity product when you have low porosity. Brands are assuming that all curl type 4 has high porosity products so they are making heavier products and slapping type 4 on it when it really is just a high porosity product. But if someone did have type 4 curls but low porosity then the product originally labeled for their curl type would also not work for them. Brands are using curl types as a marketing technique to cover the average person but it doesn’t always work which is what I was meaning to point out in the video without making it too long lol.

A crucialm question for me...I have a little part or cowlick type thing at the back. I need to push hair around with my fingers while diffusing to try to make it disappear. Any ideas, so I don't have to touch my hair often? Also, I guessing my hair is heavy as I have to use clips at the top of my head to try create volume while diffusing. Even if I toss my hair from side to side while diffusing the top I get that natural part which I'd love to lose. My hair is just and inch or so below my shoulders. Any ideas? BTW, I've been testing products...so far Treluxe has been best. I do use the Not Your Mothers leave-in conditioner. Oh, and do you se a silk pillow case? I've started that. I have a satin bonnett but I really hate something on my head while sleeping. And, how often are your wash days? And what kind of refreshing routne do you have? Just for your info...I use a Bellissima Diffuser because it releases heat but does not blow air. Sorry, I talk alot.

UPDATE I did your routine but with the following - Olaplex 1hr before showering - styled with dime size of bounce curl leave in conditioner, NYM mousse, NYM gel - I diffused right away on cold air then warm - let me tell you this is the first time I’ve gotten somewhat of a gel cast in YEARS -I got lazy and went to bed but when I woke up to SRUCH IT out I have beautiful bouncy shiny curls!! I haven’t had hair this good in a while! Even when using that Ashley TikTok girl method! Thanks queen!

Hi I have a crisis question! I loved your video, I’ve learned a lot, I’ve been using some of ur tips and they’ve worked brilliant from recent videos too but I’m trying to grow my hair out and I’ve noticed the longer the length gets my hair after the first wash drys wavy straight but then there’s shorter pieces which hold the curl. In the past when it was shorter, I always had it cut at an inch above mid back height, and I would always have really defined, lush curls, even after using very minimal product for wash day. But the longer it’s getting I’m seeing less curls and more long waves, some pieces are pin straight waves others look like an actual defined wave pattern. I’m confused what to do here, I’m doing the exact same thing I’ve always done with my hair, even the products so a bonding treatment and then some oil to rehydrate cause it gets real frizzy even wet (which I also want to fix), please help, I’ll literally take any all advice please!! 😐😭😭😭

Heey, this is totally ok cus long hair tends to be heavier, so if your hair is growing that problably means that the curls are wheighting down and thats why Its looking like waves, you should problably try a thicker curl cream or a stronger gel so it could hold the curls better

I feel the same way! I love my hair when it's short and long, so I grow my hair out and donate it when it gets too long for me to really deal with. My hair really curls up when it's short but when it's long, the back half and bottom half of my hair are pretty much straight, with a slight wave. If I want it curlier, I will pixie diffuse. Like Kiana mentioned, make sure you style it when it is dripping wet. I put in my curl cream while I'm still in the shower, then I hope out and immediately put in gel and/or mousse. I try not to use heavy products, to not weigh my hair down. If you want to you can always brush define your hair or at least the pieces that become pretty straight. I don't do that because it already takes me a while anyway on my wash days. Like Sarah suggested, I would also try a strong gel to help make your curls last. Also, if I use oil to break up the cast on my hair, by the end of the day, it will look dry and frizzy. I haven't heard anyone talk about that yet, so I'm not sure why it does that but I hope this helps!

@@tiffsand9 what curl cream would you suggest, my hair is pretty fine and thin, I’m also loosing hair you see so heavy products such as creams and gels really scare me cause I believe I’ll loose even more when I’m already loosing so much at the root, and I’m talking excessive shedding, still don’t know what the cause would be if that, but what curl cream which is extremely lightweight like I’m talking liquid, barely there feeling in terms of the heaviness and its consistency, and then not having it weigh down or having that feeling knowing there product in your hair where u can feel it, I get sensory overload from textures you see so it’s lot 💀

@@Mochi-bts I don't like feeling a ton of product in hair hair either. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a curl cream that is liquid. I currently use the ouai curl cream. I apply probably a quarter size amount for my entire head of hair. But because I am applying it right after I rinse my conditioner (which is the last thing I don't before getting out of the shower), it doesn't feel like much product in my hair after it's dry. As for gel, I have a couple I love. Uncle funkys daughter curly magic (this helps my curls spring up), kinky curly curling custard, and la hold styling gel (strongest I've tried so use sparingly)

You might need a stronger gel to help lock your hair! if your hair is higher porosity, then you could also try a stronger cream rather than a leave-in conditioner, and a bit of oil after diffusing can help with frizz. Also, hair health plays a big part so letting it grow and getting regular trims will help too!

I go by what people in real life tell me. People compliment me on my CURLY hair. Hairdressers tell me my hair is CURLY. So yes, I may be pale, I maybe not have coily hair, but I have curly hair and Idc if the curl police online gets upset about it even though they don't know me at all. I feel lucky to have curly hair, curly hair is so beautiful. The problem is, I haven't quite cracked the code yet. Some days my hair looks amazing, some days not so much.

I'm not sure which product you're referring to to find dupes, but for the hair oil, there is one by Marc Anthony called the Coconut Oil Dry Styling Oil, I use it and it smalls great and does the job. For curl creams, I would stick to using Not Your Mother's, its on the cheaper side but still does the job well. Leave in conditioners are pretty easy to come across too, Shea Moisture leave-ins are super good and can be found at Walmart for 10-15 dollars I believe, or alternatively you can get Mielle leave in conditioner, it also has rosemary/mint in it to strengthen curls. For gel, eco hair gel ranges from I believe 8-15 dollars. Microfiber towels can be bought for relatively cheap, or you can use an old T-shirt! (Idk if this helped lol)

@@MiaPomales-mh4wj anything Shea Moisture leave-ins are good, I specifically use one by Mielle (Not Shea Moisture) its called Mielle Rosemary - Mint strength Leave in! The mielle one is my personal holy grail, it's on the thicker side so it might weigh down the curls, leave ins are primarily used to moisturize the curls, but it's not a necessity in a curl routine, I know a few people who skip it and go straight to curl creams and gels :)

My favourite (my personal holy grail) is pretty common in a lot of curl routines, but the Mielle Rosemary / Mint strengthening leave in is what I use! It can be found at Walmart or Target. It's a pretty thick leave in, which means it's more for moisture! It might also weigh down your curls, but it's not too much of a big deal. Some people skip the leave-ins and go straight in with curl creams!
