I was in Hawaii when Hurricane Lane was forecasted to wipe out the Islands. It was unreal how unprepared everyone was including tons of people living in tent cities that would have been absolutely annihilated. Im thankful to this day the storm sheered and didnt actually make landfall. It was surreal actually, the forecasts were so grim and the Navy moved its entire fleet from Pearl Harbor then the hurricane just never came. It wasnt even windy or anything.

It was sure nice to see Therapy going out, haven't seen her in a while. And yes I would go out fishing on the correct boat. I grew up on Long Island and those conditions are just another snotty day! We had a Tollycraft Sportfisherman and that was a doable condition for us! Stay safe on the water people!

1. I think that little pontoon is an amazing new design in pontoon boats. Remarkably stable and really difficult to sink. 2. He'll no it shouldn't be out there! Nobody should be heading out into a known hurricane.

The pontoon ( a Switch) is not your typical aluminum pontoon. The outer tubes are made of polypropylene and fiberglass and filled with foam for buoyancy. The center tube is deeper and holds the jet engine (Rotax) and the fuel tank. More rugged design than most aluminum toons (for flexing). Looks like the kids were having fun, but, ya, they did the Haouover U-turn LOL!

Looks more escaping for some fishing. At what size of boat do you decide to ride it out in open water or hope your boat stays tied up where you left it? Or hope the insurance payout gets you out of the big mistake that is the hole in the water into which you pour money.

Generally, fishing is awesome right before a storm and right after. Falling barometer and just the start of rising, but not bottomed out or high, that stinks. Fishing is always better on cloudy, rainy days vs. bright sun and flat winds.

Watching from Australia as an experienced boater I have to surmise that American boaters are not very bright, or safety conscious. Here we have serious sea conditions and NO ONE, absolutely no one is wearing a life jacket/flotation device. WTF! You go overboard in these conditions it's game over. I guess these people would not even think of having everyone on the boat carrying a personal EPIRB. Good ole 'Murica', the land of the free and chronically stupid. Take that num-nut in the pontoon boat as an example. He's a fatality waiting for a place to happen. Absolutely not the conditions for that type of boat.

I survived hurricane Hugo when I was a kid (7 or 8 years old). That experience has put me off from ever living on the gulf of Mexico or Florida/coastal southeastern US again. My family was stuck in South Carolina for several weeks bc the damage was catastrophic. The thing no one ever warns you about is how the second half of the storm is when the 💩 really hits the fan with the wind & damage to houses/structures. Right after the eye passed everything around us started breaking apart.

Confused about the title.. are they running, or just boating? Because Miami got next to nothing from Milton, relatively speaking, and was never forecast to. My boat sat in a marina in Stuart, much closer to the storm up the east coast, and was just fine.

unless evacuating, seeking shelter or in a pilot boat doing work then the inlets should be closed.. There's people without homes, Send the police and emergency services go help them. If you got time to go fishing then u have time to be part of the community and prepare for the worst. go fishing today knowing florida has now power and is flooded but the damage wasn't catastrophic

These are the good guys , moving their boats to safety, I hate the ones who let their boat get destroyed and cash in on insurance money , should be dropped from insurance if you know a hurricane is coming and fail to make a effort to move your boat, everyone's insurance goes up bc of those asswipes.
