Thanks for the video:) I've got 3 hives. 2nd year bee keeping, and when I switched to screened bottom boards this summer I didn't put the entrance reducers back on. Wish I had. One hive got robbed and was evacuated. When I recently put the solid bottom boards back on the 2 strong hives, I opened the empty one and was disgusted by the wax worm damage. First time seeing any signs of it. There was only one huge, fat worm I could see...but what a mess. I'm in WI and despite feeling I don't want to leave the empty hive out to weather all winter...I am so any signs of them freeze.

Martha Conover sorry for your loss...one more lesson learned😕😬... You could clean them out...use bleach water to sterilize...stick some PDB crystals in them and store them where you want...just make sure you air them out for two days before using them...😀

Okay I'm a first-time beekeeper and I've I've never even heard of these entrance reducers where do I get them?

Any bee keeping supply. It’s just a tiny board that has multiple sized holes that help the bees defend the entrance better in certain seasons.

@@backyardbeebuilder5666 great video, once I get my supers off at the end of the season and the bees have cleaned them up I put them all in large plastic bags so the moths can't get at them and then when it gets freezing out I take the bags off.
